another great meal

We live near Stroud, so are hardly local but its well worth the drive. We dined there again this evening and as usual it was great even though they were very busy. Nice to see a few asian people dining there, that's always a good sign!

Service may have been a bit slower than usual but we didn't mind as we were chatting. Two of our party are strict vegans so we sometimes find it difficult elsewhere, but the staff are always obliging and make sure their order has no animal products. I would continue to recommend this great place.

if you can't get over to Chippenham to the Taj mahal then this is the second best place to eat, great food, great service and yes a good price.

The Best

This has got to be the best place by far to sit in and enjoy a lovely meal. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I'd recommend The Jewel in the Crown to anybody who likes a nice curry, If you cant always eat the food in there, if you ask they will put it as a take away for you too. ;)

Rude staff

I went with great expectations having heard good things about this place. I booked a table on a Saturday night and went with some freinds. We arrived at the time we had booked the table and one of our party went straight to the bathroom. The staff came over straight away and asked if we were ready to order. We replied that we were not quite ready but would be soon, at which point the staff member replied "well you'd better be, we're busy". The service did not particularly improve after that. Food was great, but would not convince me to go back.

Eat in luxury!

Very very nice cuisine in very grand surroundings. I have eaten here many times and am always impressed with the quality of the food, the surroundings and the service. I always try something different and have never been disappointed. Mr Ali the owner is always there on hand and friendly as ever. I was pleased to see/hear that his daughter is now helping him with the business and can quite often be seen there overseeing things.

A must try for a very pleasant night out I must say!

Yumm Curry

This is one of my mum and dad's favourite Curry houses. I have been there for lunch and dinner and have never had a bad meal. Do a delicious vegetable curry. Staff are always very helpful. They sometimes even come into GWR FM and bring curry for lunch. Brilliant !

The best curry in Swindon

I love this restaurant, it has such a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the food is always amazing. Mr Ali and his daughter Julianna are always there to greet you and make you feel part of the family. I'm never afraid to ask for a recommendation and they have never failed to deliver a great meal. An excellent venue with good food and great value for money.

Word of mouth

Lots of people go on and on and on about how good this place is. Thought I best check it out, and you know what, they're right! Delicious food. Get eating.

Everybody's favourite

Everyone on here seems to love this place, and I must be honest, I completely agree!

Friendly staff, great atmosphere and extremely tasty. I can heartily recommend the Chicken Bhuna, it's one of the tastiest dishes I've had for some time.

The staff could not be more accomodating either. A great eating experience.

Awesome, everytime...

We went in quite early so the place was quite quiet which was nice.

We had a mix of starters, all of which were great, followed by two awesome curries. Great beer on offer as well.

Mr Ali came and spoke to us, along with his daughter, which was nice. The staff always make you feel like a million dollars.

I love curry!

This restaurant is great, the atmosphere is really relaxed and the staff are really friendly. Now to the important part, the food... there is a lot of dishes to choose from and the prices are very good. The food taste's FANTASTIC and I love it. Defiantly one of the best Indian restaurants I have been too. But there is more, you can take it away too… What more do you need!!

I highly recommend this place, if you haven't been yet I have two words for you... WHY NOT?

Great food!

Mr Ali and his staff are so welcoming and helpful from the moment you walk into the restaurant. The food is freshly cooked to order - biryani is my favourite! The portions are great value for money. The atmosphere is great and you can easily bring your husband/wife, family or friends and feel welcomed here.

totally yummy!

Mr Ali and all his friendly staff always make you feel welcome whether its a special occasion, a charity event or just picking up a takeaway and the food is always so yummy and they will go out of their way to ensure you have a good experience. Ive been going there with my family for over 15 years and its still as good as ever, hopefully Ill still be going there in the next 15!

Swindon's Premier Restaurant

This is also my favourite Indian restaurant in Swindon I have been visiting Jewel in the Crown for nearly 20 years and it is by far the best food in the local area.

Swindon Landmark

I've been going to this Indian since I was 14.... I'm 34 now and nothing has changed. The menu is still awesome (Pasandas are a treat) and the friendly staff are great.

If you like Indian food and have never been here, you must give it a try. Make sure you leave the car at home and down some Cobra beer too.... lovely!!

Great Meal Out

I cannot praise the Jewel in the Crown highly enough. Gorgeous food, amazing service and hospitality, and reasonable prices for such a great dining experience.

I have never been disappointed when I've eaten there, and recommend it to all my friends.

Not only is the food exceptional...but the service and the surroundings are just beyond expectations. Mr Ali and his team really do look after you and make this Asian experience one to remember.

Brilliant!

This is by far the best Indian that I have had the pleasure in eating in. I've never had a bad meal and have always enjoyed the atmosphere. Watch out for the chefs specials...they are really great! Love the Chandelier and the great choice! A must visit !

It offers exceptional service and super food . I don't live in swindon but i would drive 30 mins to eat here. It really is a must.

Swindon's favourite Indian?

This is my favourite Indian in Swindon. It's got bigger and bigger over the years and must be one of the most popular in Swindon. The menu is huge and they often add in new specialities. Owned and run by Mr Ali and his daughter Julia. Charming people. Decor is traditional but classy with massive crystal chandeliers. Excellent value.
