If you want to know about swindon's history this is a must see venue.
Swindon should be proud of it's railway history. At STEAM you can discover why.
The museum is not a place where you would spend a whole day but you will enjoy a few hours wandering around.
The exhibits remind us of an age long gone. The wall of names is a moving tribute to the men and women that worked for the mighty GWR.
If you have a few hours, go see for yourself!

You can't go to swindon and not geta taste of why the town is as big as it is.
Swindon was built on the railway thanks to Brunel and this place tells the history of the place and how it came to grow
Great for an afternoon and you can take grandparents here who will tell you that this is how trains are supposed to be.

Good For The Kids

I realised my kids had no idea at all about Steam trains. in fact, they think trains are smelly, overcrowded things that turn up late. But this place was a joy and an interactive traipse back to a golden age of public transport.
