"Nice Beaver", "Thanks, I've just had it stuffed"

I have some future in-laws who own a holiday home in Appledore so when we stay here we love to go for a drink at the Beaver and have eaten here too. The food is really nice and the staff are always friendly and smiling. They have a selection of board games in the corner and a copy of "The Good Pub Guide" to flick through incase you wanted to visit somewhere else in the area - but why would you? This place is sat overlooking the estuary and has some stunning views. I can't believe some of Michael Jacksons family have started renting a place in Appledore. Maybe Michael will visit the Beaver for a glass of 'Jesus Juice' ;o)

yep this is tucked away a bit but worth it when you get there. the landlord is great and it has a great outlook over the Torridge estuary towards Instow. They do lovely food and the service was great the last time I was there

Appledore stops for the beaver

02 May 08, 15:10 5* Beyond expectations

When this place has live music nights it is jammed with Appledorians. I even know of a couple of pubs that shut so they can go too! Great little place tucked away by the water front.

if you can find it ....

11 Apr 08, 17:58 4* Above expectations

this is one of North Devons hidden treasures. A small olde world pub, great food, great beers and really welcoming. they regularly hold jazz nights so look out for the posters. the only trouble you may have is actually finding the place as its well hidden ... just ask a local ... it'll be well worth it.
