still a place to go

23 May 08, 18:27 3* As expected

I disagree with the other reviews.. to me it is still special. It trys to compete with the supermarket boxes of choccies and trys to be different.. with their selection. If you want something different go here becuase you will find different sorts of sweets and this makes a lovely present ( hint hint... )

This was one of the delights in bideford but sadly its beenm destroyed by the supermarket sweet purchaser!! the jars usede to be upto the ceiling and you could get so many sweets for £1. Sadly there are very few sweets as you remember from yrs ago here!

Can't keep going like this

It truly is a shame that kids tend to go for their sweets at the supermarket. Gone are the days when you could buy 20 pence worth of cough candy twists flumm do dkilopf rt yungntmyu

Childhood memories

30 Apr 08, 12:37 2* Below expectations

Sadly this once triving emporium of tooth decay is now flagging. I have great memories of this shop from when I was young, being stacked from floor to ceiling with jars of sweets and a counter full of fudge. Sadly, the shelves are barron these days, with just a few jars of old favourites . The once jam packed fudge counter now only boasts a few basic flavours on its enpty shelves. RIP old friend.
