tends to appeal to older people, though they have got a Dorothy Pekins which is trying to bring in in the younger crowd. The satff have been there possible along as a the building though that is a compliment to the owner as he gets lots of loyality from his staff. Not only has clothes but underwear, bedding and a cookery section. Has a carpark at the back which is handy for those less mobile

I always remember my mum and aunts buying clothes from here and that memory of old ladies clothes has stuck with me. I was very surprised to see that its not like that at all anymore. It has a great mans department, the womens clothes are practical - not trendy. And theres a great home wares department as well. Deffo not Harrods, but a long long way from Grace Brothers.

The re fit certainly has done chopes alot of good. I do like this shop. It has various bits on offer. Up to date clothes, an extensive underwear section and some lovelly bedding. Good prices too,

Chopes is a lot better for the refit, but it's still a bit 'traditional' for my taste, especially when it comes down to something like the clothes that they have got. It's the sort of place you could go for somewhere quite formal. Also has a very good cookware section and possibly the cheapest car park in Bideford.
