Well below expectations
First & only time we visited, tried their Thai menu...and it was awful. The food was totally tasteless, bland, and we just couldn't eat it...and the service was appalling. Will not be going again!

Beyond expectations
We have been to the spice on a number of occasions and everytime we have been made to feel extremely welcome as they never seem to forget a face. The staff are very friendly and most welcoming they great everyone individually that walks through their door and try their upmost to make the evening as enjoyable as possible. There are sea views through the windows which looks out onto bideford quay and at night the veiw is amazing especially when the town is all lit up. They try to cater for everyone with their Indian and Thai Menu they do also have a selection of english dishes as well. I would most definatley recommend the spice to everyone whether it is for a romantic meal for 2 or a family meal with children they really do cater for everyone and with the added bonus of disabled access i think they really are a fantastic restaurant and a very friendly one.

Above expectations
the food here was delicious. care and attention was taken with the food and this was reflected in the dish that was served the waitress was very friendly and was extremely helpful in recommending where to go for a drink later that evening

As expected
The spice is a really different restaurant for Bideford serving Thai food. It is a lovelly place with sofisticated decor and a great range of food on offer.
