Ramon's

The bestest Brekkies ever created, for mostly under a fiver. A Stellar Greasy Spoon without comparison in Cardiff, Wales, UK, Europe, The World even the UNIVERSE. Fill your belly, stuff your face wipe your greasy lips for the price of a coffee in other places, Oh! and you get a coffee or tea included. If you go for the 'Bellybuster' make sure you've reserved a place at the UHW for a session on the Stomach pump, otherwise you wont be able to walk anywhere.

Picture your stereotypical greasy spoon (plastic furniture, builders, cups of tea in disposable cups) and you've got Ramon's. It is quite simply big, fat, full English breakfast Nirvana. The portion sizes are very generous and the prices ridiculously low (probably the lowest in the whole of Cardiff!). Ramon's also has a rather charming little garden out the back for the 1 day a year that it's not raining in Cardiff! (although of course these days you'll have to share it with smokers) The capacity is quite limited and being in the heart of student ville Ramon's can get busy so brace yourself for there not being any tables (there are other similar eateries near by but none are as cheap) A piece of TV trivia for anyone who's a fan of the BBC sci-fi show Torchwood: part of the episode "Random Shoes" was filmed in Ramon's (I was v excited when I saw it lol) I have an ongoing debate with a friend as to how to pronounce "Ramon's" I say it "Raymond's" and they say it "Ra-mone's" - no idea which is correct just thought I'd throw that in there! All in all Raymond's is probably the best greasy spoon in Cardiff in terms of value for money so next time you feel the need to cure your hangover with cholesterol look no further!
