What's great about Birmingham?

Birmingham has made great efforts to make herself pretty and is doing really well. Gone is the concrete joy of the 70's Bull Ring and the modern light and airy Bull Ring Shopping Centre has arrived with all the shopping you could ever need in one place. Tip toe along the canal and find yourself at the Mail Box a very trendy place to shop (Harvey Nics and the like) and then you can have a meal and drink at the many restaurants. We have our first 5 star hotel that dominates the skyline and the rotunda is now a trendy place to live and shop. Birmingham gets a lot of bad press but it's got lots to offer, and just think how much fun you will get out of listening to our brummy twang!! Alright!! (Eve A.)
the town centre used to be an absolute rabbit warren of graffiti riddled underpasses and tunnels. Thankfully, they've now finally got rid of most of these and pretty much pedestrianised everything. Nowadays a day spent shopping in Brum is actually nice than going to Oxford Street.
The people! I'd be the first to admit that Birmingham isn't the prettiest city in the UK, but meet the right people and they will sing the cities praises as well as telling you the best places to spend your time. (Daniel B.)
