Party at the Pitcher

The pitcher and piano is a great pub situated in a great part of birmingham. The staff are really friendly and great at making cocktails!! Fri and sat night is always good for a laugh, with a mixture of up to date chart music and old classic cheese! The decore is nice with lovely open fires that are great in the winter. I think this pub makes a nice change when you have walked up the meat market that is broad st. It's full of normal people having a good time. Go pitcher!

I think the P&P always attracts a similar clientele as All Bar One, its young and furnky and full of after work professionals. Its a great little hang out, with both floors being able to hold a decent amount of people, so when busy it has that club vibe.

I have great memories of the Pitcher and Piano from when I used to work nearby...
I particularly like the booth type bit downstairs at the back... you almost feel like you've got your own VIP area.
Bar staff are generally quick. Food is good too. I wouldn't suggest spending all night in here, but it's good for a lunchtime or early evening drink.

Although it's nice and convienient for anyone who works in or around Brindleyplace, this is a pretty average pub which doesn't stand out in any way for me. The food is quite nice but overpriced and the portions aren't big enough, and the drinks are quite expensive. It's a nice place to go for a couple while getting ready to go on somewhere else, and there is quite a good atmosphere on a weekend night, but overall it's nothing really special. I've always found the service to be good though.

The P&P is located in the lovely Brindley Place section of Broad Street. Located right by the canal its the ideal location whether you want to sit outside in the sunshine or inside the spacious bar with friends or colleagues to have a drink and unwind!

I'd written off the entire Pitcher & Piano chain after a bad time at their Southampton branch but this was much better all round.
The staff were REALLY friendly...I thought our waiter was going to offer to cut my burger up and feed it to me himself! Our food was good too...nice veggie burger with big potato wedges...my other half enjoyed his fish finger buttie too.
The only downside of the whole experience was the flat beer. We went to get it changed...still flat. Not ideal.

I love beer, thats no secret, so anywhere that serves it is alright by me. Not only does the Pitcher do a wide selection of beers it also has a great atmosphere and it particularly good in the winter as it has open fires to keep you nice and warm.

Most evenings and the occasional lunchtimes you will find one of the brmb team in here. It has a lovely fire going and has a nice atmosphere where you can have a conversation and also food if you require.

Well if you like deep fried anything, then you might like the food. The choice of beers isn't great, the best thing about it is the atmosphere. Evenings are better than the daytime, which tends to be understaffed - unless you're wearing a skirt and fluttering your eyelashes, then expect to wait a while to get served.

This bar is very pallettable, it is well kept - the service is better than you expect and it is very comfortable in off-peak hours
However, on a friday or saturday night - the place is packed and very difficult to get served and stuffy

Great weekend bar. Probably the best for good looking people in BP.
Drink choice is good, does take a while to be served at the weekend.
The only drawback is the food isn't that great. I had a pork sandwich once, it was like eating a foot.

This place is popular with the workers at the surrounding offices so the clientele are generally quite smart. There’s plenty of seating (they serve food) and a nice downstairs area with booths and areas can be reserved for groups in advance. It’s quite expensive but the wine / cocktails are nice. Located next to the canal it’s a lovely setting.

Not that impressive

I have only visited Pitcher & Piano once and was not impressed at all. The food is greatly overpriced and not only that, you hardly get anything for what you pay for! I paid £7 plus for what seemed like two tiny strips of chicken that were supposed to be a filled Chicken baguette. Drinks are also pricey and even with the location I can't seem to forgive this place for it's apparent pretentiousness to its clientelle.

The two levels, plus intimate areas including firesides make this a great place to take a partner for food or drink. The lower level also has partitions that can be used for private parties. There is a also a terrace and balcony for the summer months and is a nice place to start your evening or have a get together.

In the summer months the Pitcher and Piano in Brindley Place is appealing as they have tables and chairs outside overlooking the canal. During the day it attracts workers but on the night especially at weekends there are mixtures of ages that come here. The drinks and bottles of wine are expensive and they do offer cocktails as well which are nice but you pay a little more for these. They do a really nice peach Bellini which is about £7 a glass and it tastes lovely.
It gets very busy in here of a weekend and you seem to wait ages at the bar, there are two floors to this place and I advise staying at the bottom level as there’s more seating and outdoor space for the smokers. A nice place to go but the amount of people they pile in spoils it.
