Great shopping - no bull

This is THE place to shop in Brum. I have a fettish for fancy soap and lotion in my bathroom so the Molton Brown shop suits me just fine. Selfridges HAS to feature (even if it's just for the Krispy Kreme) and if you're trolling around you might want to stop off for a coffee in one of the many Starbucks establishments. Retail therapy has never been so good for you!

Although the Bullring gets crazy busy - especially on the weekends.
It's well worth a trip though as it's one of the biggest shopping centres in the country.

Wow - no pigeons pooing on your shoulder - no tramps sleeping in doorsteps - just relaxing and chilled out atmospheres.
I think they try and chill you out so much so you don't realise that you're spending your money and you shop more. Well it worked.
We thought we'd have to go all over town to look for outfits for our two little ones. How wrong we were. Brilliant facilities and the toilets are clean and smell fresh!! Excellant.

Great shopping but so busy!

I never really appreciated what Birmingham had to offer until I visited and got to know the centre of Birmingham, including of course, the Bullring. With every shop a shopaholic could wish for, including 2 big stores, Selfridges and Debenhams, cheaper shops such as New Look and then the not so cheap like Karen Millen, it really has got something for everyone. My one (big) complaint is that no matter what time of day/day of the week you go it's always horrendously busy and I hate queuing!! But if you can overlook that and have patience, then a visit to the Bullring is worth it.

Birmingham rocks!

If you're planning a trip to Birmingham and haven't been in a while - you'll notice a few changes. Shopping here is fantastic... big brand names and a stylish Bullring for shopping. Check out the futuristic Selfridges building... even if it is very pricey in store. There are plenty of affordable high street names and loads of place to eat. Worth the visit.
Bull-fight on weekends

Over 160 shops and 25 restaurants, the Bullring is a retail mecca all under one roof.
Home to one of the UK’s largest Debenhams stores, as well as High Street favourites such as H&M, Reiss, Office, HMV and Curry’s. Selfridges' slick four-floored store offers fine food, homeware and designer clothing.
All wallet-stretchingly brilliant but best avoided during chaotic, crowd-thronged weekends.

Bullring IS Shopping in Birmingham.

Since Bullring opened as one of the most impressive Malls in the country, it's pretty much redefined the way people shop in central Birmingham. Three floors of mixed shops, restaurants and cafes will have something for everyone, on every level of budget.
From Selfridges at one end, to New Look at the other, and with Apple, all the phone companies (at least once), Clintons Cards, HMV and the rest in between you'll find what you're looking for.
Tip: If you can, aim for the stairwells and lifts in the corners of the center, rather than the ridiculous escalators in the middle of each half, they're really thin, and channel the pedestrian traffic into tiny queues which get out of control during peak times. Anyway, the extra walking will do you good and you can reward yourself with a Starbucks. You know, because there's 5 of them.

Ooooh, not on a saturday!

This is a very big and well kept shopping centre, plenty of shops, big brands, i'm sure you could find anything if you have the time.
But, it is very popular and not a great experience on a saturday afternoon if you don't like the hussle and bussle of sweaty hoards - when you may have to queue to get on the escalator!
Still, in the morning or evening it is very pleasant.

Check out the markets!

Well I wasn't prepared for the smell when I opened the doors to the meat and fish market. The odor of the north sea hits you immediately - that's no bad thing. It just shows how fresh everything actually is. I was amazed to see the range of meat/fish on offer and the prices were amazing. They can't throw it at you quick enough. With the current hike in prices on the high street, believe me this is the new way to get your meat for cheap - just make sure you've got plenty of freezer space!

The Bluewater of Birmingham. It's huge. There's every shop you can think of... and a few more that you probably didn't know existed.
Extremely busy on Saturdays with all the high street chains located in the building. if it's raining, most of the West Midlands will congregate here so if it's a rainy saturday before Xmas, you may want to avoid this place like the plague... but then again it's probably the same for every shopping centre around that time of year

More shops than you can shake a large shopping bag at.

The Bullring is actually huge. I'm convinced you could fit the Isle Of Wight inside it. Twice. If you want something they probably sell it somewhere here, the only problem you will have is working out where to go. However there are some handy guides scattered about the place to help with this.
It can get manically busy at those times that every shopping centre does (weekends, bank holidays), but if you just grin and bear it you'll have a lovely time.
And being inside, you can even go shopping when it's raining without getting wet. Whoever invented the roof was a genius.

This is the biggest indoor shopping centre in Birmingham city centre. It houses pretty much most of all the high street stores like NEXT, H&M etc. It is open until 8pm so it is highly recommended for all shop-a-holics. Its a very convenient place to drop in during your lunch hour or after work.
