Yes! Registration is free and only takes a minute.
Why should I use welovelocal.com?
Because welovelocal.com will help you find the best businesses in your area whether you're looking for a trustworthy plumber, a friendly gym or a fun new bar. You can read reviews from real people who live, work and play in the same city as you, and write your own to help out others. We think it is kinda fun to share your thoughts on the best (and worst) within your local area.
What should I review?
Anything you would find helpful to read a review of. There really are no limits. If you can't find the business you would like to review you can add it too.
Why only London?
Don't worry we're launching nationwide soon. We chose London to begin with, quite simply because we all live here and know the city better than anywhere else. We also wanted to make sure everything works properly before we get bigger and list local businesses across the whole of the UK.
How can I contact welovelocal.com?

Can I get a job at welovelocal.com?

About Your Profile

Can people see my full name?
No. welovelocal.com will never display your full name. We do however display your first name and the first letter of your surname alongside your review.
Can people see where I live?
No. We keep a record of you post code so that we can target reviews and recommendations to you. Other users will be able to see the wider area in which you live e.g. Camden Town but they will never be able to get your exact address.
How do I edit my profile?
Login to welovelocal.com and click on the 'My Blackbook' tab. On the right had side you will see your profile displayed, click the 'update profile' link and away you go.
What is a Trusted Local?
A Trusted Local is an active member of the welovelocal.com community. They write consistently good reviews that are both informative and original. They regularly comment on the quality of others reviews and have encouraged others to become part of welovelocal.com.
How can I become a Trusted Local?
At the moment Trusted Locals are selected manually by the welovelocal.com team. We plan to automate this system in the future, based around how much someone contributes to the welovelocal.com community. We're also happy to receive recommendations, if there is someone you think deserves some credit, please let us know.
Who are the staff?
welovelocal.com is lovingly looked after by Rik, David, Dan, Duncan and Max. Why not add us as a friend or drop us a line as we'd love to hear your thoughts on the site.
What are the Top 100 Reviewers?
The Top 100 Reviewers are the people who have written the most reviews for welovelocal.com. If you enter the Top 100 you'll get a nice little badge next to your name. Plus a whole lot of admiration from from the welovelocal.com team.
What's a Celebrity?
You know what a celebrity is right? Famous people you snap at with your camera phone. Well, on welovelocal.com, celebrities are no different, except here they review their favourite places just like we do. See how many you can spot.
What's a DJ?
DJ's from some of the UK's best radio stations have signed up to welovelocal.com to join in the reviewing fun. We thought it only polite that we give them a handy badge so you can put their taste in curry an alike under the microscope.

About Your Account

How do I verify my account?
Once you have signed up a message will be sent to the email address you provided. Simply click on the link inside and you're done. If you don't see the email please check your junk as it sometimes ends up there.
How can I change my email address?
Login to welovelocal.com and click on the 'My Blackbook' tab. From there click on the 'Account' link and then edit the 'Primary Email' field. Click update, and you're done.
I forgot my password. Can you email it to me?
Of course. Click the 'login' link that is in the top right hand corner of every page. Below the login form is a link that says 'Forgotten your Password?' Click it and follow the instructions on screen.
How can I change my password?
Login to welovelocal.com and click on the 'My Blackbook' tab. From there click on the 'Account' tab and then you will see the option to change your password at the bottom of the page.
Can I log in using OpenID?
Yes! Head over to the login page and instead of entering a username enter your OpenID url. Hit enter and away you go. If you are unsure as to what OpenID is you can read more about it here.
How do I delete my account?
We're really sad to see you go. To delete your account, contact us here, provide your username and we'll do the rest.
Can I keep multiple accounts?
No. Having two accounts distorts the value of welovelocal.com and is forbidden. While we cannot directly prevent you from setting up a second account we will find out, and take the appropriate action.
Can I change my username?
No. Once you have decided on a username it becomes permanent. So make sure you make sure choose the right one first time.

Writing Reviews

What should I review?
welovelocal.com allows you to review any business you wish. If a business that you would like to review isn't listed then you can add it to our database. In fact if you do this you'll hold an extra special place in our hearts.
What makes a great review?
That's a tough question as there is no one single thing that makes a great review. Try and include some personal reflections in your reviews. Simple pros and cons are great but to make a review stand out, you'll need work out what made your experience unique. But remember you are writing for someone else, someone you probably don't know, so try and keep the information useful to all. One final thing to note is that we do not tolerate any foul or abusive language on our site and that includes your review too. We'll find out.
Can I review my own business?
No. welovelocal.com provides lots of tools for small businesses looking to get greater exposure online. You can find out more about our business services here.
Can I write something negative if I had a bad experience?
Of course. Learning about things that went wrong is helpful for small businesses as it helps them improve their service. This does not mean you should be abusive. We take such actions very seriously.
Can I add pictures to a review?
Yes. Click on the 'Write a Review' tab and after entering your review you will see an 'Add photos' field. Simply find the photo on your computer, add a caption and then click 'next.'

Friends

What are friends?
Friends are people whose reviews you trust. You don't have to know them in real life, but if you do that's great too. By making someone your friend welovelocal.com will make sure you get to read their reviews first. Reviews are great; reviews from friends are better.
Can I invite other people to welovelocal.com?
Yes! In fact we would encourage that you do so. On every page there is an 'invite friends' tab at the very top. Clicking on it will take you to a page where you can add the email addresses of the friends you would like to invite. When they sign up, we'll let you know. welovelocal.com is definitely a place that is better with friends.

Privacy

What do you do with my personal information?
We take your privacy very seriously. The information your enter within your Account will always remain private and is intended to help us improve the service we provide for you. This information will not be posted as part of your public profile. To learn more, read our Privacy Policy.
