Pretty Yummy Noodles 4*

Helen E. says:

I went for lunch here today despite Dan (see below) telling me it was average and bland - my thinking was it is best to give these things a try.

This little place is really well hidden, so well hidden that in my 6 months of lunch times in this area I never really spotted it. It doesn't look like much from the outside, however the inside is set out in the usual benches and is pretty cosy.

The general feeling is quite rushed as once you are seated the queue of eager diners extends out of the door. This didn't put me off, I was too busy browsing the extensive menu that caters for quite a wide audience with both, Chinese and Japanese options.

I went for the chicken ramen and was not disappointed. It was tastier than any Wagamama or Dim T noodle soup I have had, and at £5 you really cant go wrong. Service was a little abrupt and sometimes slow, but it was full to capacity and a lunch time, anyway I got my food very quickly, my fellow diners were not so fortunate!

The noodles were really fresh tasting and the chicken was nice a crispy - all round awesome Friday lunch (splash out on food day) option. I'll be back!

Dragon Castle, SE17

Worth the visit from town 4*

Ross B. says:

I've been to the Dragon Castle a number of times and after a poor first showing (I wouldn't recommend having the steamed fish) it's kept on impressing!

The menu is massive so plenty of choice for everyone and includes all your standard Chinese fair aswell as food for those looking for something a bit out of the ordinary (or lovers of tripe). The prices are cheap enough to encourage exploration - order three dishes, keep on sampling from the menu and you're not going to leave unhappy; and certainly not feeling empty.

Delicious dim sum, average service 4*

Kitty N. says:

The dim sum here are delicious, and about £3-4 for a portion. they are quite heavy on the prawns, but it is done so well and with the most excellent dishes of chilli sauce. One mound of noodles looked a bit gelatinous and unappetising, but tasted really rather good. Some wholewheat noodles with vegetables were delicious. The service was a bit rubbish - the waiter kept leaning over me/getting in my face without apologising or asking me to move (felt like being shoved about on the underground!), but he was quick to bring out our food. Desserts... Chinese desserts are an acquired taste for us non-Chinese folk. They are very sweet and not what you might be used to. (That's not the restaurant's fault, just a general heads-up.) Beware that the coffee is not too good. I'll certainly go back, and I might even take my mum and dad to introduce them to real Chinese food.

Superb Sushi 5*

Adam K. says:

Good quality sushi at great prices! The map suggests it is on Golders Green road but is actually on the entrance to Golders Green Crescent. Do not be discouraged by the outside.

They do a very nice type of sushi roll which is larger than most. It is brilliant for both take away's and eating in.

Dim T, NW3

Great for Dim Sum, not good for anything else. 3*

Adam K. says:

The Dim Sum here is fabulous and worth coming just to try it.

The rest of the menu is standard but better quality can easily be found outside of Hampstead.

However it is almost impossible to find parking, but if you have to go by car i suggest trying Lyndhurst Rd or Akenside Rd, heading towards Belsize Park.

The 46 stops right next to the restaurant so is a good way to get there.
