I'm showing my age here, but I remember when I was a little girl at school and there was talk of building a new motorway called the M40.
All these caravans pulled up with workmen and families in tow. The children of these families joined our school. I made friends with a girl called Yvonne and now and again her dad would take us up and down the M40 (dirt track then) for some fun.
Everytime I drive up and down the M40 I remember the bumpy ride.
