Paradise Park, TR27
A great day out with lots of interesting birds
Rob B. says:
Paradise Park is a great day out for folks who either live in Cornwall or who are visiting the county.
They have a wide variety of birds including many species of Parrot, owls, and even penguins. They also have a few farm animals which you're able to feed.
Activities at the park include an educational talk about the penguins where you're able to feed the penguins and even get up close and pet them (they're really cute up close), a free flying bird show where they demonstrate how they train the birds (this isn't the usual parrot on a unicycle but rather training the birds to live like they would in the wild).
Probably the best bit of the visit was being able to actually feed the Lorikeet Parrots. You're able to buy a small pot of nectar (for 50p) and then they fly over to you, sit on your hand (or arm, head, shoulder, pretty much anywhere they can find to perch) and then eat the nectar out of the pot.
Although it seemed a little bit pricey at £9.95 per ticket (adult), they did offer return tickets valid until March next year for £2.50 per ticket. I'd say it was really worth the ticket price though even if you don't buy a return ticket.
Future World, TR12
A must see attraction for anyone into gadgets and technology
Rob B. says:
Future World at the Goonhilly Visitor Centre in Helston, Cornwall is the perfect place for anyone who has an interest in all things technical. It is home to quite a few large satellite dishes which have historic value - the first dish built in 1962 called "Arthur" was used to receive live video of the space landing on the moon.
Not only do they have tours of the Arthur satellite, they also have an exhibition where you can find out how technology has changed over the years and you can learn how things may change in the future.
As well as the Future World exhibition, you're also able to have a go on a Segway vehicle (a platform with steering on two wheels) and you can also experience the 'world's fastest free internet cafe' which is hundreds if not thousands of times faster than a home broadband connection.
It was a very interesting experience although it might not be too interesting if you're not interested in technology.
Amf Bowling, TQ1
Good fun...
Ana W. says:
....but a always looks like it could do with a good scrub and hoover!! The actual bowling is great entertainment as is the quasar area.
Good for kids parties although the food is your average burger and chips so not particularly good for the health conscious amongst you!!
Darts Farm, EX3
A present for everybody
Emma R. says:
I purchased a great gift for my friend which was very unusual. You really can get some cracking gifts and some treats for yourself.
They have some great kitchen bits & bobs in Aga shop.
A trip to Darts farm is not complete without visiting the deli!
Wagamama, EX1
Great fast food
Emma R. says:
This is a very quick meal and the food is really tasty.
However it is very noisy and you have to sit very closely to someone who you don't know - you are practically touching. A little close for comfort. They can hear your conversation so not very private.
Definatley not a romantic meal.
