Dental Spa, W1T
Central London Cosmetic Dentistry
Neil W. says:
Cohan Rajan is a good dentist. He takes nervous patients and using a calm manner, more technology than the average space shuttle including itunes to listen to above drill noises, achieves great work.
The prices befit the location, the clientele is allegedly very "media" and you leave not feeling too distressed you've been gently relieved of cash !
The Dental Spa is a great find and worth travelling for.
Hotel Continental, CT5
HoCo = Whitstable 1
Neil W. says:
If the Whitstable Brewery Company made hotels, then it would be like this.... well actually it is - because they do own it.
HoCo is used for everything by our company: clandestine interviews, leaving do's, lunches, drinks - and even as a a hotel !
Service is sometimes a bit erratic, but the staff are not "travelodge" clones but human - and helpful, the breakfasts are excellent, rooms pretty good and if you pay enough or the receptionist likes you - you'll get a room with a fantastic view.
Everything is reasonably priced. The bar and restaurant is lively and sells the Hotel's own beers.
Oh...and it's situated right on the beach.
Upchurch River Valley Golf Course, ME9
New 9 hole
Kevin P. says:
This is a great golf course at the best of times, the 18 hole is really testing. Every year traditionally me and my brother and his in-laws descend on the 18 hole every boxing day. Normally takes us a couple of hours as there are normally 6 or 7 of us. However the new 9 hole is now my course of choice, they've really raised the bar on short courses, for instance one of the holes is over 500 yards - you'd struggle to find many holes like that on an 18. It's a really challenging course, with bunkers in annoying places (i only say that cause i always end up in them), and tall trees which really frustrate after a long drive when it clips the top. The greens are always imaculate, even through bad weather, and the fairways are nice and smooth. Ok the price is a little bit steep bordering close to £20 (which you can normally get 18 holes for on most courses) which prevents me from going as often as i would like. But if you want a challenge then give the course a go.
Savoy Snooker Club, CT5
Cherry Shot!!!!!
Kevin P. says:
Ah the Savoy - great bar staff, great range of drinks and food - well let's just say the Meat Feast is a must if you're starving. Chicken Fillet, Breaded mushrooms, chicken wings, potato skins, salad, dips - ah heaven. And in the Summer, get the big table by the window - great views out to Sea. Also you've got three pool tables, which are always immaculate. And a snooker hall (which i haven't been in - but have been told it's good). Basically whenever any mates come down i take them to the Savoy, it's cool to hang out in, watch the football in, have a game of pool (not many pubs in whitstable have pool tables), and get quite smashed in. Oh and don't forget the Cherry Shot, ah the beloved Cherry Shot, the sweetest shot that glides down so easily while still getting you smashed (after about ten of them). Anyway - i would recommend the Savoy on your next visit to the bubble.
Hook and Hatchet, ME17
Hook and Hatchet
Ben M. says:
A lovely tradional English pub set in the Kent Country side just off the A249. It grabbed the headlines a few years back when a van used in ''that'' Tunbridge Wells robbery was found abandoned in its car park. Graham Norton even talked about it on his TV show...
Signs for it can be seen from the A249 (just before Lilly Spice going towards Maidstone). Admittedly, its a bit off the beaten track, but thats what makies it even more special.
It offers a lovely bar area as well as a newly decorated resaurant serving a variety of food from fresh fish to vegetarian specials.
They also boast the 'Best Sunday Lunch in Kent'...why not give it a go?
