Theatre Royal Plymouth, PL1
new look
Paul H. says:
So much better now that the place has has a face lift - thats probably the reason why so many BIG names come here now. Its sort of become a testing ground for acts to try new material, before taking the show on the road. Saw this with Lee Evans who appeared here, tried the new act, then toured the rest of the country 6 months later.
Starbucks, PL1
£ for $
Paul H. says:
I first sampled Starbucks in the States and regularly used them for coffee on the go. Now that they are spreading out of London, its a real treat to visit any branch. My only gripe is that the $ in the states is translated into £ in the UK. So a latte at $3.50 ( £1.75) is actually costing £3.50 over here. Its a shame that the Americans love of Cinnammon hasnt come to the UK Starbucks. This branch is great beacuse of the staff ... great Plymuff accents .. asking what Miwk you want in your larrtay.
National Marine Aquarium, PL4
2 hour drive
Paul H. says:
from where i live it is a 2 hour drive to get to this amazing place. We had heasrd that it was pricey so made it the main focus of our trip. Pricey, no. Id say below average on price when compared to Lego land or London Dungeons or Madame Tousauds. You get what you pay for, and this is real value for money. Get up close and personal with the sharks, the fish tunnel is amazing ( although I did feel quite dizzy) and the kids get to "play" inside the tanks. Stop moaning about the price, its a great day out fer fish sake!!
Drake Circus Shopping Centre, PL1
another shopping centre!
Paul H. says:
I have mixed feelings about this place, on the one hand its shiny and new and looks stunning, on the other hand theres nothing really new about whats inside ... same old same old, usual high street names. My only worry is that it doesnt drain the life out of Plymouth's shopping heart.
Asda Stores, TA1
appreciate what u got
Paul H. says:
If you live in a town with an Asda, you really wont appreciate how lucky you are. The choice where I live is luxury food shopping in Sainsbury or close to luxury food shopping in Tesco. I regulary travel the 60 miles to Taunton to experience the wonders of Asda. The own brand food is unbeatable, the clothes are excellent value and at the season times ( halloween, xmas, easter etc) they have ranges of exclusives that you cant get anywhere else.
