who makes the best tea in the birkenhead office?
Louise L. says:
...I nominate myself although I do have a tendancy to spill half of it on the run from the kitchen to the office door
Chris C. says:
I'm a pretty solid brewer... not too much milk, tea-bag squeezed the living day lights out of, and then a powerful stir. Also i can carry four cups and open the door. I've not seen such versatility from any other tea-enthusiasts.
Simon T. says:
I think my teas are pretty solid, with a good milk to bag ratio.
I can also carry up to 4 cups (albeit burning my knuckles) and open the door with my knee.
Traycie K. says:
I'm taking the diplomatic route , all great , especially when they come with biscuits , I have a tendency to make them too weak or spill most of them in the corridor and can't carry more than two without burning my knuckles, pathetic really.
Simon T. says:
I always clean the mugs before making a cup though. With washing up liquid and everything. I'll even use the cloth to get rid of the rings.
I think you'll find that gives me the edge.
Chris C. says:
i do this too... but also fill the cup with hot water while the kettle boils, to warm the mug, thus bringing out the flavour of the tea further, and keeping the cuppa hotta for longa
Simon T. says:
Now that is impressive.
PS. Why do I prefer to type this, when I'm sitting opposite you?
Traycie K. says:
you think that's good , i refill the kettle after use for the next tea maker ! I also have lost the power of speech to typing
Louise L. says:
well I go to china and pick the tea leaves myself, put them in organic bags, come back and stock them in the quality street tin at the weekends just so you guys have the freshest tea possible through the week
Helen E. says:
i think we should do a test on monday.I dont drink tea in the office but i will from monday. each of you has to make me a cup of tea. i will rate them out of 10. the person who gets the highest marks, wins!!! - you win nothing. i may make you a certificate though!
Traycie K. says:
Helen, cheeky but i like the way you think, monday it is then bring a mug
Helen E. says:
ps: you may get extra points if a biscuit is served with the tea!! ha ha
Chris C. says:
Is this an accurate test of quality tea making?
Would you see Jilly Goulding say to a non-wine drinking, Fanta-enthusiast... "Ee ah, which is better?, this 2000 reserve beaujolais, produced from the virginal berries of the French Rivieira's finest vines, or this 2002 Shiraz, smokey, fiery, and explosive on the tongue, just the way the Chileans have made it for 200 years?"
Experience breeds quality.
Helen E. says:
UPDATE:
Chris made me tea on Monday- I gave him 9 points
Simon made me tea on tuesday- I gave him 9 points.
Simon T. says:
This is just a cheeky ruse to keep getting people to make you tea.
Damn you.
Wish I'd thought of it first.
