Sacre Bleu, NN1

And for those who don't love French as much as me...

I absolutely love France and at any opportunity would eat at a French restaurant. Le Sacre-Bleu in Northampton certainly exceeded my expectations and confirmed why I love the French! This quaint restaurant could easily be overlooked as you follow a fairy lit alleyway down to the main restaurant, but once found you will be sure not to forget it.

As soon as I walked in I felt as though I had been transported straight to the French shores with the tables themed to the colour of the flag. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming with a definite European feel to it. The menu was extensive with a wide selection of traditional French dishes to choose from that were delicious with some particularly impressive fish dishes. The late license of 3am meant I was able to make the most of the amazing wine on offer, not so good for the weekend hang over.

If you're looking for French dining without making the trip across the border, Le Sacre-Bleu is definitely worth a visit!

The Southbank Bar, NG2

Lovin it! 5*

Rebecca L. says:

I was a southbank bar virgin until tonight!!!

My friend had convinced me to go there tonight at short noticed so we didnt get there till gone 10pm. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived but still busy enough for there to be a good atmosphere.

The band playing was the Joe Strange Band and although they didnt look much on stage they were electric when they started playing. within a few songs people were up dancing and they covered songs from several eras from david bowie to Amy Winehouse!

I absolutely loved it, drinks were reasonable and you never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes to get served. Highly recommended!

Suits Plus, NG1

Great Prices! 4*

Rebecca L. says:

My partner popped in to have a look for a new suit. He is very fussy and very nearly turned to walk out as nothing caught his eye when a helpful sales assistant approached and asked what he was looking for. After a bit of helpful persuasion he was measured and an appropriate suit found which he loves.

Excellet prices approx £80 a suit and its buy one get one half price.

An extremely wide but somewhat dubious choice of shirts but at least theres something for everyone!

The Cookie Club, NG1

Not my cup of tea! 1*

Rebecca L. says:

I visited Cookie Club on a friends birthday night out. And lasted about 30 mins tops!

It was absolutely filthy and the music was not to my tastes.

On the plus side drinks were cheap but you kinda question the cleanliness of the plastic cup its served in when you see the state of the rest of the club.

Generally full of students and Emos, Nemo's or whatever they are calling themselves these days! If thats your thing then I can imagine its the best club in Notts but definately not my bag!

Fancy Dress Bank, NG7

Aladdin's Cave! 4*

Kerry P. says:

I needed an emergency fancy dress outfit for a VERY large fancy dress party! I found that this shop was just up the road from my place of work. On ringing them before I got there I described what kind of thing I was looking for (in a particularly bad way) and despite this the staff there knew exactly what I was looking for. They were very helpful and also told me about the hidden parking space! When I got there I went in through this little door and to my surprise walked into a MASSIVE shop! A proper Aladdin's cave where they had everything you could possibley need! Full blown fancy dress outfits, wigs, accessorise, down to make up! The staff there were very over excited about fancy dress, so much that I felt bad just coming out with a wig! I would recommend this shop to anyone needing a fancy dress shop - Excellent staff and customer service, loads of choice, good price!
