Pizzeria Santana, NE2
Pizzeria Santana's
Faye M. says:
This cozy restaurant typifys a traditional Italian restaurant of the old school with red and green lighting, haphazard seating and very kitcsh decoration! The food, however, is fantastic value and the menu very extensive. Alongside the expected pizza and pasta there is a whole range of specials. The house wine comes in litre bottles and is very reasonably priced at under £9! The service is quite attentive and fairly prompt. Clientelle ranges from students to familes and everything inbetween. For a reasonable pizza it is a great place to try!

From the outside it looks like any other off license but once inside it becomes apparent that this is an aladdins cave!
As an off license it sells it sells a bewildering array of wines, beers and spirits and has some fantastic rare single malts.
In addition though, it is brilliantly well stocked as a general dealer meaning you could listerally survive on shopping there without having to to a supermarket. The prices, although not as reasonable as a supermarket, they arent as expensive as one would expect from a small independent retailer.
Not only do they stock the everyday items we all use but have a great selection of luxury food items and even cuban cigars!
The staff are polite and efficient.

For anyone looking for great Itailian food in an authentic setting you can go no further than Gianni's. Expect to queue out the door and down the stairs, especially for happy hour which is 5.30 - 6.30. The atmosphere is wonderful and you can guarantee that at least once through your meal the whole retuarant will be asked to join in the sing someone happy birthday! The pizza and pasta are wonderfully tasty and very good value. They have a great selection of starters & puddings and the steaks etc are delicious. Once you try this place you will compare all other "authentic italians" to Gianni's!

They've gone for a Morrocan feel here with arches everywhere and low seating areas in alcoves. It's a good place for a party but you know when you've had too much to drink because you start walking into what you think are other rooms through arches and meeting people who look just like you. Then you realise they're mirrors and it's probably time to go home.

Splendid Pets
Andrea L. says:
The people that run this pet shop really care about the wellbeing of their animals and the enthusiasm they have for their business is evident as soon as you walk through the door. The animals look happy, the cages are clean and the shop is well stocked with everything you would need for domestic animals as well as more exotic pets.
