Review of Heart FM

ideal to have on in the background
I sometimes put Heart on in the background while I'm doing something, and forget it's even on so it can stay on for hours at a time. It's the kind of music that you can let just drift along in the background as it doesn't really require much attention, and the DJs dont' talk that much either during the day which is good.

Review of Galaxy 102

Good at certain times of the day!
If you like your music with a bit of bling then Galaxy does just that - it plays only the finest dance & r'n'b which can be really good when you're getting ready to go out and can't find anything good on the other local stations, but at some times of day I find it a bit too much and think they should play more of the dance and less of the urban but I guess they have to please as many people as they can...

Review of Selfridges

unlike any other shop!
I've been to this Selfridges a couple of times on trips to Birmingham, and must confess I've found it great to just wander round and look at the bizarre things that lots of money can buy you nowadays! I once went on a bank holiday weekend which I now realise wasn't a great idea because there were more people than products in the shop, but even so the place just gave off that 'wow factor'. Despite my being impressed for the design and feel of the place, I didn't actually buy anything... Which is kinda a drawback for a shop... I looked at the prices for some things and just felt like I was paying for being in Selfridges rather than the product itself...
Overall, fantastic experience, and probably great for shopping, if you are VERY loaded.

Review of Primark

busy but worth it...
Birmingham's Primark is suitably massive, as the city centre demands, and this means it attracts a LOT of people. This means that the place is always really busy, and when you're shopping in somewhere that busy it's difficult to put everywhere back where you found it. So stuff generally gets left in a right mess, which means the best time to properly hunt out some bargains here is early in the morning.
If you do all that, you stand a decent chance of finding the good stuff, and it is there - don't be fooled by the rubbish stuff... Oh, and expect to spend about 20 minutes queueing to pay.

Review of Bullring Shopping Centre
21 Apr 08, 15:23
Another part of the centre...
This part of the Bullring is attached to the other part, really it's the same place if we're being honest, so there's more shops here and if there's anything you can't find in the other part of The Bullring then it'll probably be in this bit.
The Bullring has been well thought out - you can arrive on train and Birmingham New Street Station comes out right into the shopping centre, there's a MASSIVE car park, and the bus links are good too, there's frankly no reason not to come here... Unless you live in another country.

Review of Bullring Shopping Centre

More shops than you can shake a large shopping bag at.
The Bullring is actually huge. I'm convinced you could fit the Isle Of Wight inside it. Twice. If you want something they probably sell it somewhere here, the only problem you will have is working out where to go. However there are some handy guides scattered about the place to help with this.
It can get manically busy at those times that every shopping centre does (weekends, bank holidays), but if you just grin and bear it you'll have a lovely time.
And being inside, you can even go shopping when it's raining without getting wet. Whoever invented the roof was a genius.

Review of Krispy Kreme

Actually the best donuts in the world...
OH MY... Actually the best donuts in the world, like actually THE best. Sometimes you have to queue for a while to get hold of yours, but this has the bonus that you can stand there and watch the staff making the donuts as they all go round the conveyor belt thing, it's like edible poetry in motion, with jam in.

Review of BRMB & Capital Gold

Birmingham's Hit Music Station
Whenever I'm in Birmingham I'm always tuned to BRMB! The Big Brum Breakfast is easily the best way to wake up in the Midlands, and Dan Morrissey always makes me chuckle when I'm on my way home! They now say they're "Birmingham's Hit Music Station" - and they are!
