Review of Green and Stone

Wonderful Art Shop 5*

Everything you could possibly want from a good art shop.

They stock many different brands of brushes and paints, as well as lovely gift items too. Good card and paper selection.

I could spend hours just browsing in here!

Review of Whole Foods

I was so disappointed 1*

I had really high hopes for whole foods, and was sorely disappointed when I did finally make my way up there.

All the organic items are not unique or interesting - you can get most of this stuff in your local supermarket at half the price.

The cheese room was fetid with cheese that had gone over, the fruit and veg looked sad and tired.

I think it's a waste of money, bring back Barkers anytime!

Review of Liberty and Co

19 Apr 08, 11:15

It's lost it's edge 2*

Much classier than Harrod, Liberty was always known as the cutting edge department store in London with designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Jean Muir and many more starting their careers there.

Unfortunately in recent years it's gone a bit down hill - it's lost it's unique approach to the goods in store and has become more generic and like other department stores which is a shame. It's also only a third the size it used to be.

For a tourist though, it's well worth a look as it's very much a part of London.

Review of The Collection

Pretty Dull 2*

Another place that has a good reputation that when you actually go there it's really a bit crap.

Very over priced, not particularly interesting people, and it feels like a church when it's not busy.

One of those places that people talk about, but they are not really sure why. I would really avoid it during the Christmas period as a lot of the local Estate Agents have their Christmas parties there - grotty!

Review of Cactus Blue

Pervy Men & Expensive Drinks 1*

I agree with Lucy the men in here are stomach churning.

I don't really rate the cocktails and it's really expensive. I think it has a bit of a reputation for being a good place in Chelsea to hang out, but I don't really see why. I think it was made famous by that ridiculous man James Hewitt being caught doing Coke in the loos.

I wouldn't bother.

Review of Carluccios

Standard Italian Chain 2*

Carluccio's is fine for a coffee or a quick bite to eat. Being that it's part of a large chain, it does lack any unique or unusual qualities. The food is bog standard Italian Fair, with a deli counter and shop in most branches.

Good place to go if you are visiting someone in Chelsea & Westminster hospital and they feel like a prison break.

Not as busy as the one in South Kensington.

Review of My Old Dutch

19 Apr 08, 11:04

Pancake Central 4*

Really fun Dutch restaurant that serve mainly savory pancakes with chicken and vegetable fillings.

This is a good one for a quick bite before going out or going to the cinema.

Not somewhere you'd go for atmosphere or a party, but perfect for a quick bite. Good food, good prices.

Review of Henry J Beans

Great beer garden 3*

The actual pub isn't anything special, it's really American, dark and dingy.

In the summer however, it's great, it's got one of the largest beer gardens I've seen in London, with beautiful flowers, trees and plenty of seating. Get there early on hot summer evenings to bag your table.

They do chuck you out of the garden by 10pm because of the residents, I would advise moving on at this point.

Review of The Cats Back

Hidden little Jem 4*

This is a great little pub not far from the river behind the one way system in Wandsworth.

They've got a great menu with a variety of things, from snacks like pita and humus, to full on Sunday Roasts.

It's really cosy in the winter because they have a fire. The decoration is quite fun, very eclectic.

Review of The Blue Elephant

19 Apr 08, 09:39

A really special treat 5*

If you want to have a seriously good Thai meal, the Blue Elephant is amasing.

I would save it for special occasions as it'll make a really big hole in your wallet. Their food is really delicate and light, not greasy like some Thai places.

They do a range of levels of spices, so if you don't like it too hot there's something for you. Or if you like to have your mouth blown off - they'll sort you out too!
