Hidden little Jem
This is a great little pub not far from the river behind the one way system in Wandsworth.
They've got a great menu with a variety of things, from snacks like pita and humus, to full on Sunday Roasts.
It's really cosy in the winter because they have a fire. The decoration is quite fun, very eclectic.

Review of Fentiman Arms

Good gastro pub
The Fentiman Arms is about halfway down Fentiman Road in Vauxhall.
It's a cracking pub with really good food, and a warm and cosy atmosphere.
Try the Wild Boar Sausages and Mash - really good. They have a good range of wines at good prices too.
Definitely worth a try.

Not a big fan
This pub is a bit of a weird one, I think I've only given it 1 star because compared to the other pubs along that stretch, it's left wanting.
It's a big old airy place with a massive bar. The times I've been in there it's been really quiet and you almost feel like you have to whisper so as not to disturb the quiet.
Apparently they do a good pub quiz but I've never been. You're better off in the Duke just up the road or the Lighthouse.

Review of Duke Of Cambridge

Yummy food, good beer garden
The Duke is in my opinion one of the best pubs in Battersea.
It's well located and easy to get to.
They do really good Gastro pub style food, with a pretty mean burger with all the trimmings or occasionally really good white fish.
They've a great front garden with heaters if you smoke, and on the whole there's a good crowd in there. You can't really go wrong.

Review of The Sun

Brilliant Summer Vibe
I especially love The Sun in the summer. There's a massive front garden which gets heaving in the summer. It always has the holiday feel about it, people in shorts and flip flops.
They do great Thai food if you fancy it in the week, as it's hard to get a table at the weekend. They also do a pretty mean Cosmopolitan!

Good Sunday Session Spot
I love this bar, the staff are really friendly and it's the perfect place to chill out with the paper and a coffee on a Sunday morning.
If you're feeling up to it, they have a great Sunday night boozing atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough. Only downside, it's a bit of an arse to get to if you don't live in Clapham.

A bit of a void
Not a lot to say on this place really, the food's pretty miserable and it's overpriced.
It's got really high ceilings, and a big floor space which is made to look even larger by the fact that there's never anyone in there.
Only time I've seen it busy is during a match. I wouldn't bother to be honest!

Good for a quiet pint
This has been here for as long as I can remember and I've lived in the area over 20 years.
It's a pretty standard bar, but a good one for a quick after work drink. Again as with many places in the area on Chelsea days it's completely over run by blue shirts, but non-match days it's a useful one to have up your sleeve.

Review of The Morrison Bar and Lounge
18 Apr 08, 17:16
Yummy chicken pie
The Morrison is a bit of weird one. I think it's one of those pubs you have to go in a gang to, otherwise it lacks atmosphere.
They show most sporting events and somehow manages not to get too crowded.
There's a tiny beer garden in the back lacking a view.
The new owners have done a good job, the bar staff are amusing and they do a mean chicken pie - great Saturday afternoon hangover nursing place.

The Lovely Ben
To be honest, I don't rate this pub that highly on it's atmosphere, brick walled beer "garden" with no view - or the actual bar.
What do I like about it? The f*ck off massive Great Dane - Ben who's owners run the pub. The size of a horse with the heart the size of a football - he's totally gorgeous and worth a visit to the pub based on a meeting with him!

Review of The Fulham Mitre
18 Apr 08, 15:16
Great beer garden
This is a good one in the summer, everyone in a good mood, jugs of beer or pims.
Located quite close to Fulham B'way tube, the Mitre is a good one for a session. Gets busy on match days, quite good food, great beer garden with loads of space.
Good laugh in the summer, nice crowd.

Review of Union Inn
17 Apr 08, 14:28
Quite good
I never touch Cowes during Cowes week or in the height of summer - stuffed full and unbearable, so out of season the Union is pretty good.
It's your bog standard pub, which is usually full of locals (no bad thing).
Good beers, not too over priced, and if there are a few of you, there's a big table round the side of the pub that people overlook - don't you can make as much noise as you like in there - plus there's access to the bar!

Review of Anchor Inn
17 Apr 08, 14:26
Great off season
If you fancy a burn around Cowes the Anchor is a great pub that will even put you up for the night.
Very close to the marina and on the main high street, rooms are really reasonable out of season.
We got rooms for £25 each in September. Think it's the pub Princes William and Harry recently made famous for getting pissed in and trashing the joint - don't let that put you off it's a great pub.

Still under refurbishment
This is a great pub to look at, and to sit and drink outside in the summer, it's got a lovely floral front beer garden, but I wouldn't touch the food in there - unless you keep it really simple.
I've only rated it with one star at the moment as it's currently being refurbished. I believe it's under new management so I am living in hope that the new owners will be a bit better with the food.
It's great in the summer if you've had a good walk in Richmond, great place to re-hydrate and chill.

Love love love this pub
I think the food here is really amasing, they've the best crab, lobster and oysters I've ever had in London.
Ok so it isn't cheap but if you fancy a treat and can't afford Bibendum this is a good second option.
They also have a room for hire upstairs which is quite fun if you have a gang of you.

Rugby Pub
Fantastic place to watch England Rugby matches.
Does get seriously packed so get in there early and line up the pints, and try to sit near the bar.
Out of rugby days, it's a good gastro pub with good British food and a fine selection of beers.

Review of The Ship

BBQ-tastic
The Ship is a super spot in the summer, teaming with people all flocking for the river side views and the awesome BBQs.
Little known is the side dinning room which is great for parties in the winter and out of the way. They also do table service.
Happy Times.

The Poney
Quite possibly the best summer pub in south west London.
Ok, so the beers are expensive, but they have one of the best collections of European and World beers in the UK.
Best of all in the summer it's heaving with good people that all spill out onto the green to drink, be merry and play frizby. Yay - role on Summer!

Review of The Hancock

Perfect Student Lunch
Best lunch spot ever. Cheap food with a loyalty card that gives you free food and drink.
They've got a large outside area and lots of pool tables so if you really can't be arsed with going back to lectures after lunch - the Scream at the Hancock is the place for you in the Toon - situated nicely between Claude Gibb and lectures.

Hidden Jesmond Hide away
Great, when I was a student I used to go here all the time, so few peopel knew about it. I'm sure this is no longer the case as Jesmond is getting busier and busier.
If you fancy a quiet pint and chat with a mate away from the madness that is the Osborne Rd on a Saturday night then the Collingwood is your place.

Great Pub
I almost always have my birthday party in the pub, it's got a great upstairs or back room.
The staff are always friendly, it's got a great atmosphere and you never have to queue for that long.
Outside heaters in the winter provide a great little haven for smokers.

Generic
Like many of the pubs in this chain Jeronimo Inns - they also own the Builders Arms, Harwood and East Hill, they are perfectly acceptable, but nothing new or particularly special.
They don't offer anything new but the food is good, the service friendly and reasonably priced.

Brilliant Place for Cheeky Drinks
If you are looking for a pub with a great interior, friendly people and a joint you can settle in for the evening, the Ifield's it.
Best thing - it doesn't get too packed on match days.

Good food, good times
Famous pub in South Ken, full of pink shirts and loafers, but inoffensive ones!
Does what it says on the tin, good selection of European Beers with good pub grub.
Can't go wrong really.

Review of The Goat In Boots

Bit of a let down
This used to be a great pub about 5 years ago, it's now full of a strange mixture of people that don't seem to blend at all.
I'm not even sure if they do food, but the beer is very expensive the toilets are always broken and it strikes me as being really dirty.
Useful if you are about to head into the cinema and you fancy a quick drink before hand - but that's about it.

Saturday Sessions
Great place in Chelsea that doesn't get too packed. Very good Gastro Pub style food, great interior with really nice staff.
Britten Street, is just off Sydney Street in the heart of Chelsea. If you've had a hardcore day shopping and fancy a glass of wine and a snack, this is the place for you.

Review of The Admiral Codrington

Over Priced but Really Nice
The Cod is behind Peter Jones 2. It's nice in the summer (although stuffed with the estate agents found in abundance in the area) with a tiny front garden.
The food and the wine list are all impressive, but if you're on a budget I recomend the house white with something from the bar menu and the restaurant menu can be a bit of a shocker!

Secret Pub
Love this tiny little place near Chelsea Pentioners (they're often drinking in there - if you fancy a good yarn buy them a pint).
Not sure about the food, but lovely little joint with a great atmosphere.

Bad bad bad
One of the smelliest pubs I've come accross.
Really unfriendly landlady who doesn't seem to like women, the staff are pretty miserable and the food is dirty dirty dirty.
Worst toilets in London.

Funny Little Place
A great little secret if you work in the Victoria area and don't like the idea of Railway station pubs.
It's in Belgravia behind Elizabeth Street. Might be limited on space for larger groups but it's definately got that old school old mans pub feel about it.

Bit of a hole
Not my favourite pub in Chelsea given it's so close to the Phoenix, but I guess it's ok as a stop off point.
Always seems a bit dark and dindgy, but it's affordable and you can almost always get a seat.

It's bloody brilliant
This photo is an old one, it's been done up really nicely now.
Good food, friendly staff, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Pretty good for weekends if you fancy a few bevvies with mates somewhere not too expensive that's easy to get to in a fun area.
They've tables outside for smokers and it's fairly close to Sloane Sq tube.

Review of Chelsea Potter
16 Apr 08, 16:26
Standard pub
Although famous, I don't rate the Potter very much, it seems to be a place people go if they want to be spotted by the people strutting up and down the Kings Road.
It's not particularly cheap, nice or special in any way.
I guess the location is ok, but other than that it's a bit of a void.

Review of The Coopers Arms
16 Apr 08, 16:23
One of Chelsea's finest
The Cooper is a famous old pub, regulars have been George Best (RIP), Bruce Forsith and many more.
Lovely traditional wooden floor, bar and features, it's one that has managed to avoid the gastro pub make over most of the pubs in the area got treated too.
Grub's not bad either, and they allow dogs.

Review of Cock & Rabbit Inn
16 Apr 08, 14:00
The Rotten Habbit
The Cock & Rabbit is to the side of the village green of the charming hamlet The Lee.
The area is also the location for Midsommer Murders so if you are after a quintessentially English village for lunch and a walk or a couple of drinks in the evening the C& R is for you.
It's got a great beer garden out the back, great for those lazy summer afternoons swigging on bitter or cider.
The food is not however the best, but the friendly staff and location make it well worth the hour drive out of London.

Review of Duke On The Green
08 Apr 08, 15:23
The Duke
Possibly the best pub in the Fulham area. Really popular with I would say 21-35 year olds.
Fantastic food, with a good selection of wines and beers. Love the pints of Peroni - only bad thing it's not too cheap.
What could be better than reading your paper on a Sunday afternoon in a pub where you dog is allowed on the sofa - oh joy!
