Review of Delaziz

Cakes and jazz
This atmospheric restaurant/deli in Fulham Broadway is a real find. The place is packed with cookware, large clay pots and jars of sweets, surrounding the tables where you sit down to eat or drink. And the window display shows off some of the most fantastic cakes and desserts I've ever seen. I've only visited Delaziz once, but I definitely plan on going again. A large glass of Prosecco is £4.50 and for a dessert or slice of cake, it's about the same again. I've honestly never seen such enormous cakes in my entire life - they are incredibly tall and well-filled. Imagine a Quentin Blake illustration of Bruce Bogtrotter's cake! Go for the baked alaska cake, which is covered in at least 2 inches of meringue icing. The staff are also very sweet and make the visit very memorable. Next time, I'm going for the dinner-plate sized cookies...

Great Thai food
If you’re looking for affordable, top quality Thai food in a great environment, then go to this restaurant. It’s certainly cosy, sharing a big table with several other people, but it’s really fun. My favourite food here is the sticky coconut rice with the butternut squash & pumpkin curry. A one-person portion probably serves about two people, unless you’re one very hungry person, and the food arrives quickly. I’d also recommend the ginger & honey tea, which comes with cashew biscuits, after the meal.
