Review of LinenMe

True beauty!
LinenMe offers a stunning range of bed linen and table cloths, as well as huckaback towels and curtains, in a variety of colours. The owner of the business is a truly talented interior designer and does her best to share her passion for linen. I needed some fabric for a round tablecloth, and she gave loads of advice on the properties of different linen textiles, the colours and the sizes. Highly recommended.

Review of Redwoods

Recommended
Even though this is not the largest estate agent in Aldershot area, but we've found them to be very professional and helpful. After experiencing some problems with the landlord of the property we were in at the time, the manager of this Redwoods branch stood up for us and helped out getting the misunderstanding sorted.

Review of Volupte Lounge
11 Jun 08, 08:32
Great fun, but pricey
I went to Volupte Lounge a few weeks ago to celebrate a friend's birthday. After a few extremely overpriced cocktails in the bar area, we were let into the basement lounge - and the programme was really spectacular. A word of advise though - be prepared to empty your wallet - this will not be a cheap fun. At £35 per person, I thought it was a bit over the top.

Review of The Archduke

Avoid if you can
I agree with Faith W. - if you are not THAT hungry or THAT thirsty, try going somewhere else... I've been invited to their restaurant section (as they have a bar downstairs) to celebrate my friend's birthday. The problem was that she hasn't been here before and she was really hoping to have lovely time with friends (the restaurant was recommended by someone she knew). Boy was she disappointed. The décor is outrageously dated and scruffy, while the staff are rather arrogant. And the menu - the menu! All starters start at over £5.50 and all main courses are over £10 - and we are not talking 'a fancy place' here! I suppose you don't want to know that the puddings were all over £6... Not a nice deal, anyway.

Review of Lituanica

From Lithuania with love
The majority of Londoners know where to get fantastic French baguettes, where to obtain top of the range Russian caviar and how to fill their stomachs with the taste of India. Now for once Lithuanian cuisine can be explored in its full glory, as this shop near London Bridge railway station offers everything from pickled mushrooms to salted herring, from smoked fish to natural Lithuanian honey, from curd products to sweets and chocolates. Probably the best section is their meat products fridge. All products are well-labled in English. If you are ready to go to a little extreme, try their smoked pigs ear. It IS nice, really.

Review of Rush London

Lovely place to fix your looks!
My boyfriend has had long hair since leaving school and with 80 cm long he's surely had more than he needed. The persuasion process took years but finally I got him to agree that at his age he should be thinking of revamping his style a bit. There was one condition though - he didn't want to get a cheap £3 shave or chop and he insisted on going somewhere where they claim to have hair stylists rather than barbers. So I booked him into Rush Wimbledon. I admit, we were both nervous, especially me, as I would have had to take the blame if the whole experiment turned nasty. The staff at Rush were very friendly and understanding, and they took their time to sit down and talk to him, showed some pictures of styles that might suit him, served some tea and made him feel really good. The lady who did his hair even asked him if he was raising any money for any charity! Well, at £35 for a gents hair cut I thought was a bit steep but in this unique case it was definitely worth every penny! (I would have paid twice as much to see his locks go, to be honest!). The professionals at Rush showed him how to maintain his curls and style his hair every day, so that was really helpful (even though it's me who has to do the styling bit every day...) It's now been over three years since he said bye-bye to his hair, and life has never been the same. Truly recommended.

Review of Po Na Na

A popular spot in Wimbledon
If you've stayed in one pub for a few drinks, and then moved to another, and then you really really feel like dancing, Po Na Na is the place to go. That’s exactly what we did a few weeks ago with several friends of min (all girls!).
The entrance fee £8 we thought was a bit high, and because the lower level of the club was packed with people, we opted for some girly char upstairs. And – it was really lovely! Moroccan style interior of the chill-out area featured cozy round sofas and we stayed there pretty much until 3am, with regular trips to the dance floor downstairs.
We noticed that the club had more male clubbers than female, and it seemed to be popular among large group of male friends (sometimes noisy and obnoxious, but one can’t complain – the security did their job well).

Review of Berties Wine Bar
20 Jun 07, 08:15
Good luck finding the seating...
This superbly located little wine bar is great for having ... well, a glass of wine and going somewhere else. Being a resident in Wimbledon for over 2 years now, I've only managed to get a seat once. The place is always very very busy, and even though it looks tempting to hang around the bar for a while, eventually you get tired of waiting.

Review of All Bar One

Spacious and pleasant
All Bar One branch in Wimbledon is excellent for meeting up in the evening before going out clubbing, and for having a nice plate of English breakfast on Sunday morning. They serve a massive portion of gammon and eggs, as well as a great selection of seafood, including lovely crab pancakes. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review of Le Piaf
19 Jun 07, 15:37
Excellent full English Breakfast
I've been going to Le Piaf for Saturday breakfast since 2003 and I must say they really make my day. The meal is not greasy, there's plenty of it and it feels like you are having a pleasant morning in France (and a large glass of fresh orange juice contributes to this feeling a lot!). Excellent choice for day-time meals.
