Review of Tai Pan

super fast and super tasty chinese restaurant
To be honest, I confess that most Chinese takeaways normally taste the same to me. Chicken Fried Rice, Crispy Duck, multiple other types, they all taste amazing, but often I struggle to tell apart the difference between the takeaways. Tai Pan might taste the same to me as most others, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. What it really has going for it though is it's speed of delivery. Most takeaways will take what feels like an eternity to deliver, Tai Pan is outstanding though. I've eaten on multiple occasions from this place, and to this day, I can't think of a time that it has taken longer than twentyfive minutes for it to be delivered. You get good food, and you get it fast. What could be better?

Review of Zuccato

02 Centre Restaurant
This pizzeria is located on the upper floor of the O2 center on Finchley Road. At the entrance to the premises there is a cafe layout which makes way for a more traditional Italian restaurant further to the back. As far as restaurants located in shopping centers go, Zuccato's isn't bad at all. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated with a great number of window seats that sadly only look out on to Finchley Road! The menu offers the traditional Italian mix of pizza's and pastas. There is also a selection of Italian bottled beers and an extensive wine list. Prices are fairly reasonable however during the day between 12 , 5pm all pizzas on the standard menu (specials menu not included) are only five pounds which is a saving of up to 1/3 off usual prices. The pizzas were fairly large and very tasty plus the service was prompt. Highly recommended for a lunch/early dinner out!

Horrible Holloway Pub
This place is a bit of a dive. There are several pubs like this at the top end of Archway, another being the Mother Red Cap. This pub needs a clean and more importantly a refub of some kind. The pub looks like it hasn't changed since in years and the youngest I saw their looked at least 50. The pub circuit singers and enetertainers frequent here every weekend so if you like that kind of thing the go, otherwise dont even bother.

Review of La Porchetta

not a restaurant for those of a nervous disposition
This lively and ever popular pizzeria makes for an enjoyable evening out. Offering a range of pizzas and pastas the prices are very reasonable indeed. There is a good drinks selection too all of equally good value. The pizzas are huge and would be a challenge for most people to finish. The restaurant is very popular with birthday groups as the staff really go all out for the celebrations. Happy Birthday is played over the restaurant's stereo system whilst seemingly all free members of staff crowd round the lucky birthday boy/girl singing and battering dustbin lids together. Perhaps not a restaurant for those of a nervous disposition , good fun for everyone else though!

Really Nice Irish Pub
Tufnell Park is quite a quite area with more restaurants and shops than pubs. But one of the few pubs there is this Irish Pub. This isnt an Irish themed pub like the O'Neills chain pubs so It has a good atmosphere and a surprising number of younger people there. On the whole I really liked this pub. Guinness is supposedly better here than many other places in London and they have a pool table as well although dont expect to play on this on the weekend as its too busy.

Review of The Grapes

Best Pub In Town
Throughout London, you always find places like this. Your ancient, and proud of it, boozer with your regulars and a sense of proudness throughout. Yes, like so many pubs throughout the capital city, The Grapes is a place to adore. At the same time however, it is so much more. With a terrace over looking the Thames, a truely exquisite fish restaurant upstairs, and the sort of crammed Friday night hustle and bustle which is befitting of it's limited space, it thrives on the happiness and content that it provides. When you leave The Grapes, you leave a little bit of your soul behind, there and waiting for your next return. A place of truely awe inspiring brilliance.

Review of Game

Well informed staff, and some great products
When I'm shopping, I like to think that the staff that I'm going to talk to actually know about their product. Sometimes this is a farce and they know nothing, sometimes they're almost experts. The branch of Game in Canary Wharf is definately the latter example. Staffed with intelligent people who probably play their stock as much as they sell it, you can always guarantee that they can talk about whatever game you want for hours. The shop is also incredibly well stocked with the most recent games and a slightly older variety. Add to this a 2nd hand bin, and you know you'll find what you are looking for here.

Review of Woolworths

Reasonable Woolworths
This store is like most of the Woolworths store across London. It has a good range of offers but it looks scruffy and unclean in parts. Some of the shelfs look like they have been rammed for of items to get it out of the warehosue in the back. For the more popular items like the ipod or xbox, I found them to have little or no stock which is disappointing for a chain store of this size. However they do carry a large selection of items and usually have a DVD offer going on, so for these reasons I would check this store out.

An Ok pub for local bands
This pub resides next to the forum so when a big gig is on, its always busy. A lot of band nights happen here on a weekday night so if you like your live bands, definately come down one night have take a look. On the whole the pub is ok but nothing special, drinks are ok on prices but for a pub that plays a lot of live band nights, there still remains a strong element of the older generation.

Best Pub on Green Lanes
Tucked in between lots of shops, the Salisbury stands out like a saw thumb but for all the right reasons. Its a very nice and large victorian pub withg a good selection of beers and ales. It's a shame the pub is on green lanes as there isn't many good pubs around it but Well worth a visit anywhere, especially on Pub Quiz night mid week.
