They Get It
This place is ideal for a lazy beer on a Saturday. Its not to hectic, it pulls a young crowd - and they do a fine range of ciders and bitter. You'll like it - promise.

Nice Touch
This is a good old fashioned english boozer. Mental carpet, wallpaper on the ceiling, but good beer and the regulars seem to be accepting of strangers. Good cider, I seem to remember.

The best thing about this store is that they also have the petrol station on site and at the time of going to press, its the cheapest place in Portsmouth to fill your motor - thats reason enough to go there.

Bought my first hourse from this lot and they really know their stuff. Particularly if you're looking at Southsea/Eastney - good connections and local knowledge. Fair charges too.

Some people come from the dark North to shop here its that good. Good selection of shops, although there seems to be a lot of stuff you wouldn't really want to buy. Parking is insanely expensive too.

Seriously good food here. They do a massice range fo scoff, but if they'v got the slow baked Lamb Shank on - go for it. Its more tender than .....(use your imagination). Good atmos too.

What a great part of the World! Nestling between the rolling hills and a short drive or nice hike from the fabulous beach at Studland, great for families, with a swimming pool and friendly pub on site.

Lovely, friendly staff who actually do what you ask them to and don't try to talk you into a haircut your not comfortable with. Very reasonable prices too great for busy mums who need to get in and out quickly without being ripped off.

Courts. Very few places offer Grass courts to the general publis and these are always in good order. With 12 courts you can normally pitch up and play without having to hang around for too long.

Lovely family setting
Quite an unexpected find in the hills above Bath, but a really interesting mix of education and fun for all the family. Check out the lovely little herb shop, with fresh picked flowers, herbs and gardening gifts, with amazing views across the valley.

If you want to go to a pub at the weekend and watch some sport. This is the daddy. Screens everywhere, if its on Sky/Setanta/Beeb - it'll be on in the walkabout. Your 1 stop shop for beer and sport. heaven. Scoff is ok too, a bit "platter" heavy mind.

You know the deal, Spearmint have a standard and they rarely go down...hill. I spent part of my Stag do here and the girls are very obliging, good honest fun. You get loads of stag type parties, but then again - what were you expecting?

Wierd but wunderbar
Scandals is wierd. The ceiling is at 5 foot and a fag butt, the walls ae sweaty, the beer watered down, and the clients slightly bog eyed. But, on a sat night if you want some where to go to jump around - some good indie rock, no pretentious ponces that you'll find in GunWharf, this my friend is the place for thee.

This was the first ever pub in the world...possibly. But wierd to think that old sailors we're drinking there just after they sliced someones throat in Spain circa. 1329 AD. Good pub, excellent loactiom , excellent fish and chips, bit pricey. But worth it for the brilliant views,

I have stayed at The Cumberland on numerous occasions, its brilliant. The sea facing rooms are superb, really classy and they've made the most of the Art Deco original design. But....watch out for the non see facing rooms, its like something that Basil would rather forget.

Good
The Mermaid is trying to be a normal pub amongst the razz of Ports Solent. Its Ok, loads fo room, a nice outlook across the marina and the prices are OK too. I ate chips there and they tasted like ...chips. Which is good. A good mix of people too, from Pompey footballers to drunken youth.

Kids love this place. From birth through to pre school years, you can loads of really good value toys - most 2nd hand, but in really good order. Prices are really good too. and, once your kids have hammered them you can trade them in again. Sorted.

Considering some of the poncey places that are on Albert Road, the Vaults is a nice contrast. You get a mix of people in there from students, the rugby club, people going to the Kings Theatre over the road, or people just out to get loaded. Good service and atmosphere.

Excellent food - its all cooked fresh in front of you. The menu has loads of selection and there's a ncie Mediterranean vibe to the place. Lots of good beers and wines on offer, a good night out. You can eat well here for £20 a head.

On of those pubs that has a really wierd charm to it. Its pretty standard in all regards, but its got a nice feel right by the water and its just unpretentious and normal. Bearded clam pickers go there, so it must be OK.

Fine Location
Loved it. I've been a few times now, its a bit of an ordeal getting there. A stereotypical English pub, good food, good beer, but the outlook is superb looking across the South Downs, its lovely and peaceful. Ideal on a summers day with a pint of cider.

Its the cradle of the game of cricket. More importantly, its a good pub, with good ales. The service is good and they offer some fine scoff to. Its in a great setting in the middle of no where, on a summers day its a little bit of Hampshire paradise.

...its the Chili Shredded Chicken and has to be the best thing on the menu. I use this Chinese from time to time and the guys in there are good value. They make the food fresh(ish) and its all hot and good to go within 15-20 mins.

Superb but Pricey
If you like a top selection of fresh fish, this place is awesome. You actually pick the piece of fish you want, then they whip it off and prepare it. Good wine, good service, but a tad steep - 4 people will eat for about £30 a head. Good value though.

Fine English Pub
A real little gem with glorious views across the Jurassic Coast, loads of great local ales and ciders on tap and a basic menu with the best pasties outside of Cornwall. Watch out for some highly amusing spontaneous live music on Sundays throughout the Summer - never a dull moment!

Cool and Classy
I hadn't been to this place since it was the Academy, many moons ago. Its refitted and looks superb. if you want a class night out, spacious, relaxing and not surrounded by sweaty mites gnawing at the plaster, you'll love this place. Not cheap mind.

Scoff at the Monsoon is superb. On Albert Rd there are 10000 curry houses, but these guys knock up the food fresh. You can tell, because it actually tasts of curry. They also do a fine takeout service and they're normally there with 30 mins.
