Sound 
The Festing is a fine pub. A great atmosphere, DJ can be a bit raucous and kill off conversation, but its a good place to start the Albert Rd trot.

This place is rancid. Honestly, how the hell they're allowed to open I'll never know? This place hasn't seen a paint brush since Nelson was walking the streets. Don't go here if you like yourself.

Nice Touch
This is a good old fashioned english boozer. Mental carpet, wallpaper on the ceiling, but good beer and the regulars seem to be accepting of strangers. Good cider, I seem to remember.

A cut above the rest
Lovely, friendly staff who actually do what you ask them to and don't try to talk you into a haircut your not comfortable with. Very reasonable prices too great for busy mums who need to get in and out quickly without being ripped off.

Smooth
Courts. Very few places offer Grass courts to the general publis and these are always in good order. With 12 courts you can normally pitch up and play without having to hang around for too long.

A Little Nugget 
I live a few doors from this place - a lot of the tripe they knock out is fit for the zoo. But they do a superb Chicken Shish - slap some garlic mayo on there and your world will spring too life. Good nosh - massive portion - can't understand a word the staff are talking about.

Dreams
What a football club. So the ground is old, so the local pubs are rancid, so the fans are all a little 1 eyed.....that's what makes the club superb. Ask any team in the Prema and they'll tell you one of their best road trips is to Pompey. Next season you can ask a load of Europeans too. Blue Army!!

Danger, Danger! 
The goods - it always seems plentiful in stock and the staff are sound. The Bads - some of the staff look like they've just escaped St Jimmy's or prison. The Ugly's - how many Co-Op's do you know that have bouncers and a Police presence?

History
What better way to kill to birds with 1 stone. Take your kids swimming and they also get a history lesson. This swimming pool is ancient, its a little bit quaint because its Victorian, but that was also the last time it was painted. Really tired old place, the staff try...but it sucks.

There are some good boozers in Eastney and this is one of them. They have some good live entertainment, comedy, music. Regulars seem pretty normal, part of a nice crawl with the Cellars etc

The Good Old Days
The FCA is a throwback to a by gone era. I right stinking old English pub, poor decor, grotty bogs, sticky carpet, regulars that look like they want to eat your face. I love it, just how a proper pub should be - not for the Lyle and Scott brigade. Real men only.

Kids love this place. From birth through to pre school years, you can loads of really good value toys - most 2nd hand, but in really good order. Prices are really good too. and, once your kids have hammered them you can trade them in again. Sorted.

Shame
This pub used to be excellent, located right on the harbour edge - its nice to sit there and watch the world sail by. Only thing is, its been taken over by the big chains and they've wrecked it. Food is bland, service is very poor. Very yawn, yawn - but with crap service.

On of those pubs that has a really wierd charm to it. Its pretty standard in all regards, but its got a nice feel right by the water and its just unpretentious and normal. Bearded clam pickers go there, so it must be OK.

...its the Chili Shredded Chicken and has to be the best thing on the menu. I use this Chinese from time to time and the guys in there are good value. They make the food fresh(ish) and its all hot and good to go within 15-20 mins.

Absolute Crap
Whatever you do, never buy anything from these cowboys. I had a whole drama with Sofa's that I bought there. Customer Service is probably the worst ever know, the products are shoddy (1 sofa lasted a week before it splt). Its all a giant con with the prices too. If the world was flooded with p**s and this was the last furniture shop in the world, I wouldn't spend another bean there. Shocking.

The Home of Good Cake
Sod the Golf. This place serves unbelievable food and cakes. eople come from miles around to savour the sweet delights on offer and are normally back within about 2 days. Great service, good prices, before you know it, you'll be 47 stone and slagging me off for recommending it. Good luck.

A Miracle!
I'm a serious carnivore, I love meat. These guys are possibly the best in Portsmouth/Hampshire. Really good sized cuts and the meat is quality. Its cheaper than the super market, not packaged up and it actually looks and tastes like meat.

The Best ever?
Luckily I live a stones throw from Gilberts, which is possibly the best sweet shop on earth. Pick a sweet from your child hood and they stock it, probably in 15 different flavours. Its Old Skool, but bloody brilliant.
