Review of Chilli Tree

I like this restaurant
I've given this four stars because although it's not a big-name restaurant, I don't think I've ever met friendlier staff. If you go back they'll remember your name. If you go twice, you'll probably end up on their Christmas card list like us! The food won't be a disappointment either. Enjoy.

Review of Tamarind Indian Cusine

Tamarind quality
They've been nominated for a few local restaurant awards before. These guys won't be a disappointment. It foods really good. It's not claustrophobic either like some restaurants can be. If you sit near the fishtank, you'll find you can't help but be drawn to the strange sucker fish. What is it doing??

Review of Taj Mahal Restaurant

The oldest in Leicester
These guys say they are the oldest Indian restaurant in the city, and I have no reason to doubt them. Their recent refurbishment works well. Although this is not a plush part of town, the restaurant manages to rise above it's location somewhat and provide a refreshing experience. Food is good.

Review of Memsaab

Top notch
I was going to give this four stars, but to be honest, I'm not sure what I'd improve. On certain nights, they've got a pianist tinkling away in the background. It's not a cheap night out. A meal for two would cost perhaps £60. But, this is a notch above the average and that's reflected in the price. They have won various awards for their efforts I believe.

Review of Lahore Karahi Restaurant

The real thing
The word is that this is where Indian people go to have an Indian. How about that! It's not expensive and operates a sort of buffet system for a set price. The ambience is definately 'no frills' but if it's great authentic cuisine you're after at a price that leaves you enough money to do it again next week.. this is the place!

Review of Shimla Pinks

Chique but not intimate
If you're into trendy restaurants, you'll like Shimla Pinks. It's minimalist decor will attract some (not be personally). It doesn't pretend to offer an Asian ambience really. The food though is good.

Review of Tastes Restaurant

Quick and Quirky!
Efficiency is the name of the game here. You will be seated on long benches and served in record time.. almost before the order has left your mouth "I'll have a crispy du.. (plonk) .. thanks". For some reason I'm really quite fond of this place. The food isn't outstanding but it's fine before you go to the cinema next door. The musak is sort of chinese ballad-pop which is quite entertaining in itself. If you're losing interest in the idea of the film you were about to see, just sit back and have another beer here and try and predict the melody line of the next hit ballad (you'll probably succeed).
