Review of Topman

Too Small Topman Store 3*

Surprisingly the Topman store is not as popular as other clothes shops in Wood Green Shopping City. I think this is because the store is too small and stocks the minimal lines on most of its ranges. But they do have some good stuff in there, I usually find a good priced polo shirt or belt. They aren't big on their special offers or discounts so if you are looking for a bargain you may want to try Blue Inc or Burtons which are also in the Mall.

Review of The Assembly House

Nice Big Victorian Pub 4*

Take a right outside Kentish Town Tube and this pub will be in front of you. I've been here a few times with friends and Ive always enjoyed it. It's got a really nice victorian interior with big windows so its not dark inside. The bar is big and the service is quick. There is a good selection of wines behind the bar and theres plenty of seats to go around. One of the best pubs in kentish town in my opinion, definately go for a pint if you are in the area.

Review of Tate Modern

The place to go for modern art 4*

Tate Modern is just one of those places that you have to visit when you travel to London. Beautiful from the outside and containing some of the finest modern art anywhere in the world (the Mark Rothko room being a personal favourite), the Tate is one of the most important tourist attractions in London. Free at the point of entry, but with a donation box at the door, Tate Modern provides you with the perfect place to visit when the typical London clouds begin to circle over head. At the same time however, for those with a desire to spend their funds, there are parts of the Tate where all cash is greatly received. Short term exhibitions are always popular, however cost an entrance fee. The shops on the lower levels are also worthy of merit. Cafes, and an exquisite members lounge add to the experience, however, these are not for those with a limited budget. A tribute to the combination of art and business, Modern is worth a viewing to any tourist.

Review of Cinderella

grotty and badly located, but not without charm 2*

The Archway Tavern is situated on the corner of an incredibly busy road. Let's firstly look at that and think at how bad a location that is. Surrounded by none stop torrents of hectic motorists, it is not the sort of place you would expect to see tables outside, and you definately wouldn't expect to see people sitting there. This if anything is perhaps the one saving grace of this artificial and grotty pub. Devoid of charm, and with badly kept beer, the Archway Tavern is one of those rare pubs where you find yourself actually wondering why you bothered turning up. Often cramned and with little organisation, it is a place of limited appeal. Yet, for all it's downsides, people keep coming back to this dire place. It has a strange feeling of charm about it. A place which blatantly doesn't take itself seriously, and where, on a warm Summer's night, you can actually sit on the wooden benches outside and for one brief moment, forget you are sat on a slab of concrete, surrounded by speeding cars. It's a rare moment, but a pleasant one.

Review of Almeida Theatre

Underrated Small Theatre 4*

The Almeida is a nice little venue just off Upper Street. It doesn't have the same high profile plays as the west end but its just as good a venue as any in the West End. Definitely worth a visit even if you are not a fan of the theatre.

Review of Burger King

13 May 07, 14:09

Quick and well run, pity the guilt of eating here stays 3*

The Burger King at Liverpool Street Station is the perfect example of what is wrong with fast food. Well run and fast, the place can churn out food at superb speeds. Yes it barely registers as food, but you have to give them credit for the work ethos. Fast food is barely food. It tastes rubbery and is not particularly satisfying, but when places like this are so quick and easy to use, it isn't a surprise that we still eat the stuff. It's all too simple.

Review of KFC

Best KFC in Wood Green 4*

The beauty with this kfc is that because its up the road from wood green tube its not as busy as the other one near the shopping centre. Thus the service is excellent and its also open to 2am on the weekend and 12 on a weekday so I found it very convient after coming back from the pub.

Review of Subway

03 May 07, 11:07

The best Subway I've ever been to 5*

Subway is just one of those fast food chains that makes you happy every time you see one. Far healthier than McDonalds and easily tastier than Burger King, Subway is a lazy eater dreams. The store on Seven Sisters Road, just makes this chain even better. Probably doomed to close soon as I can't think of ever seeing another soul in there, it is a well maintained and operated business. Providing the regular Subway service at a fast speed and in a pleasant manner, it remains a personal favourite. If you are in North London, this is the chain store to buy your food from.
