what a surprise 
we visited this pub restaurant for first time on impulse yesterday lunchtime, we were able to choose where we could sit and had delicious 2 course meal served promptly and efficiently by the smiling staff. My mum had spare ribs and I had the grilled chicken - fab! Followed by a shared chocolate sauce & honeycombe icecream (worth the short wait). Extensive menu with generous portions (not forgetting the free eat as much as you want salad) guaranteed to leave you satisfied.

Poor Place 
I would go to this fish and chip shop more if the chips and batter had better taste. They would get so many more customers if they improved the oil they fry their food in, sorry but it tastes more like engine oil, come on Paul's Plaice you can do better than that.

Review of Hele Road Fish & Chips

Lovely chips
I visited the Hele Road Fish and chip shop yesterday after reading Rob B's review above. I wasnt dissapointed, the chips at this hidden little gem were lovely tasting and will definately be going back for fish and chips there more regularly. Price is £1.30 for a standard generous portion of chips. The shop was clean and tidy, with efficent staff and is open most nights until 9pm. A good find!
