Review of Selfridges

Love to hate it. 2*

I have a love hate relationship with this department store. If you want and can afford designer clothes you will love it as the choices are endless and if you like to wonder around marvelling at gorgeous things you won't be upset. I have had a number of bad experiences in there though, especially when trying to return things that were brought for me as a gift.. you have to go to the basement like a criminal for your refund. Plus, I have never found the staff to be particularly pleasant, and have found myself vowing never to go back there.. I always do though as there is something so appealing about it... Oh and the beauty hall is amazing!!

Review of Dim T

Dim DOH! 3*

I was a huge fan of Dim T until I discovered Ping Pong and since then its seemed a bit second rate in terms of decor, choice and atmosphere, but only in comparison to Ping Pong.. If I had never been there it would still be a favourite of mine as the food arrives quickly, its fresh and reasonably priced.

Review of Salvador and Amanda

Salvador, Unsure 1*

I have only been here a couple of times for leaving parties and birthdays and I wouldn't hurry back. It's dark and stuffy and the tapas is greasy. That is my personal opinion, a lot of my friends really enjoy for a night out, so give it a go and make up your own mind.

Review of Itsu

Itsu's for me. 3*

Having been here several times after I first discovered it I am now bored with the selection of plates on the conveyor belt. It's a bit like the pret of the sushi world. There is a wide choice, but it never seems to change. It is however a brilliant alternative to the rather run down Yo Sushi's which are scattered around the west end. It very much depends on your personal choice, but I would always advise to get there early to get a table rather than sit in a line at the conveyor belt. They do a great range of takeaway boxes, which is great as it limits the amount you indulge in! I

Review of Odeon Cinema

10 Apr 08, 13:47

Better than the biggies 4*

With this around the corner from my house, there is no need to go to the massive retail parks to watch a film. This cinema is an old music hall, the decor in the biggest screen is amazing, very ornate and all orignal. The seats arn't as comfy as the newer cinemas but that doesn't matter when you practically have the cinema to yourself. There is a great little bar upstairs too, and two massage chairs.. which for just £2 you can have a 5 min massage before you go and watch your film. The exterior of this cinema was used in the film BUSTER.

Review of Subway

Substandard 1*

Seriously do not bother with this branch of Subway. Walkaway and try and another branch. I have seen dirty pidgeons perched on the cups, the staff don't pay attention and they run out of everything by 11am...

Review of Tossed

Health Haven 4*

A healthy option amongst the carbtastic sandwich shops! It's salad - your way, made right in front of you. You can design your own or choose from the extensive menu, either way its fresh and healthy. They also do a soups, stews and jacket potatoes and if you are watching the calories they detail exactly whats in each (hot) dish including how many grams of fat and calories they contain. The smoothies are great and the banana custard gets me everytime! The queues can be quite long during peak luncktime, but they move quickly as the staff are efficient.

Review of Ping Pong

10 Apr 08, 11:06

Dim supreme 4*

This is a personal favourite of mine, but I can appreciate it may not be for everyone. It was my first experience of dimsum and I have not looked back since. Yes it's a chain, but where ping pong is concerned I think this is a good thing as there are springing up all over the place. My favourite drink in there is the jasmine tea.. the flower unfolds in your drink.. what more could you want. The surroundings are stylish and you'll feel stylish while you dine and nibble danty packages of yummyness.. there is such a vast choice you may be in there for some time working your way through the menu. The Puffs are well worth a try.

Review of Hamburger Union

10 Apr 08, 09:55

Union of burgers 3*

Set up like a normal fast food outlet in that you order and pay at the counter, but that is where the similarities end. There is a vast selection of burgers and extras, your food gets brought to you on a plate and you have real knives and forks.. its like going back in time to the wimpy, plus you can have wine and beer too. The shakes and smoothes are amazing. It is slightly on the pricey side though.A side of coleslaw is £1.99.

Review of Scotts Sandwich Bar

10 Apr 08, 09:49

Scotts Away 5*

There is so much choice for lunch if you work around LSq or Covent Garden but as soon as I was introduced to this place I was hooked. Its now my local sandwich place and they know my name! They don't just do sarnies, you can have salad, jacket spuds or lasagne too. If you are feeling flash you can even sit in.. but get there early as the queue can get long. No more expensive than Pret but 100 times better and there is more choice
