Review of The Lock Tavern

Skinny indie kids, eat your heart out
Favourite haunt of the skinny jeans crowd, the Lock is a popular hang-out for those in the know. Despite it's cool credentials it's a very friendly pub with comfy sofas downstairs, a low-lit bar upstairs, good beer garden and heated terrace. Foodwise, there's a lunchtime and evening menu, cracking Sunday roasts and square pies. Evenings and weekends expect to find guest dj's, live bands and other events - check the website for details.

Review of The Sun and Doves

Good for art students, locals and yummy mummys
Great arty pub which hosts private views and often has live music. Popular with art students, locals and yummy mummys. The bar has relaxed seating as well as comfy battered sofas and lots of unusual decorations - love the cheeky bum-shaped vase. Food is good, but a tad on the pricey side for pub grub - mains are around £8.50 and upwards.

Review of The Swimmer At The Grafton Arms

Diamond in the rough
Holloway: always "up and coming". However, if you can dodge the Eastern Europeans selling illegal fags and knock-off DVDs you can find, if you look hard enough, an oasis of calm - and it's called The Swimmer. Great Czech beer on tap, friendly bar staff and clientèle make the trip worthwhile. No bathing costume necessary.
