Review of The Black Lion

Black Lion 4*

Pub and guesthouse on Kilburn High Road. This pub has a Grade 11 listed interior. Lots of wood and an amazing ceiling. A good selection of beers and also sales cocktails. Comfortable to be in as it does not get too busy or smoky. The gastro pub style restaurant is no smoking. The bar is open till 12.

Review of The Garden Cafe

The Garden Cafe 4*

Pleasant cafe in the Inner circle of Regents park. Not cheap but in this tourist area the prices are expected. They serve a range of cakes, sandwiches hot drinks, wine, cider and beer from one counter. There is a more formal section where hot meals are served which looked very nice but we just had cool drinks on a hot day outside. Very stylish and up market feel, definitely a cafe rather than a caff. Service was OK, the staff seemed a little disinterested on ou

Review of Busaba Eathai

Stylish Affordable Thai 3*

Possible my favourite Thai restaurant in London. Very cool decor, the moment you step in to the restaurant, you can start to escape the crush of Tottenham Court Road. Dark panelled walls predominate through the large shared tables to give strong, impressive interior which I usually go for their Green Curry which has a bit of a kick to it. The Jungle Curry is very hot. Service is always super fast, and due to its popularity this is not the sort of place you can sit around for ages as a queue usually begins to gather at the door from 7pm, which is ashame, as it is definitely the sort of place you'd like to stay at for a few drinks afterwards.

Review of National Portrait Gallery

National Portrait Gallery 4*

Plenty of lovely paintings to see at this free gallery. They usually have a extra exhibition that costs to enter, good if that is specifically what you want, but it would take more than one or two visits to take in all what is there to see for free. Last time I was there a few extra Van Gogh's where on display and it was nice to see Sunflowers even if I had to wait and jockey for position as it was busy. Plenty of other famous pictures to see which when permanent features of the gallery are much quieter and it's a more relaxing experience to view. I imagine week days offer a less bustling time. On top of the painting the old sections of the building it's self are grand and add to the overall experience.

Pizza and pasta restaurant. The Stone baked pizzas are really nice, especially with Chilli oil on. Good prices and service.

Review of Penks

Penk's 3*

Penk's is a nice little bistro restaurant. The food is lovely and the service great. Mainly Italian and traditional main's. Not too expensive but not really a lunchtime venue , unless you want to pay more than the normal lunchtime £5. Great place to take clients.

Review of Cafe Firat

Oasis Cafe 3*

Quaint little cafe in Highbury fileds next to the tennis courts. Closed in the colder months. Good for a cool drink in the summer or an alfresco breackfast. Although the scrambled eggs where not that good the other options look ok.

Review of Ryman

Rubbish Stationers 1*

Overpriced, drab stationary. Staff are always super slow. Can't stand the fact that I still use Ryman's so regularly. Needed to send a fax overseas and it took nearly 20 minutes and £1 per sheet to do so.

Review of Firezza

13 May 07, 12:35

Firezza 3*

Pizza take away with a small amount of seating. The pizzas are cooked to order in a stone oven. They also offer lots of Italian style starters, salads and sides. There is a range of brushetta flavours, all are very oily and taste of strong garlic. You pay for style over content here.
