Review of Pack Horse Inn

Great country pub 4*

A really nice place to go whether you've walked here - there's great countryside around here - or just popped along for a quiet drink. There's a lovely garden for the summer time and a log fire for the winter. I usually use this place for girlie catch-up time.

Review of Ashton Motor Care

Honest and reliable 5*

2 really honest and reliable guys. I totally trust these two to be honest about my car, not rip me off and help me when I'm stuck. Being female you can sometimes be taken for a bit of a fool. I even got advice on buying a new car. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

Review of Superbook Booksellers

Number 1 bookshop 4*

This is the bookshop I always come to first. You can get most books at a discount price. There's loads of cookery books (sadly not Jamie Oliver) and loads of fiction too.

Review of The White Company

Gifts you'll want to keep 4*

If you're wanting something a bit special then this is the place. Whether it's candles, smellies or PJs you'll want to wear all day because they're so comfy.

This was the place I came to to find gifts for my (very hard to buy for) brother. And they gift wrap things so beautifully too.

Review of Toby Carvery The Friary

Everything you can eat 4*

The roast dinners are fabulous. All you can eat - I piled my plate high and felt gigantic when I left. Yummy yummy. Help yourself to as much as you can eat, there's plenty of helpings of gravy too. The only problem was waiting for over half an hour for a table (but that's because it was so busy with other people enjoying their food).

Review of Thermae Bath Spa

15 Apr 08, 15:55

Expensive 2*

Let's start with the positives - the hot tub on the roof over looking Bath is to die for - amazing. But you'll be joined by loads of other people to look out over the city - it's always rammed.

The changing rooms are uni-sex (there's cubicles) but it's on a different level to the showers (?!). The downstairs hot tub is also lovely but the foot spas weren't working which made the few hours a bit hard if you didn't want to get really wrinkly in the water. The steam rooms are lovely but again you're sharing with lots of other people so not very relaxing. Considering how long we've been waiting for this I don't think it's nowhere near as good as it could be and it's not a cheap day out either.

But that hot tub on the roof will keep calling people to it. I doubt I'll be going back though.

Review of Rodney Stoke Inn

Lovely country food 4*

Staff are always friendly, food is good and menu is always yummy. This place might be in the country, just outside Cheddar, but it's always rammed at the weekends so book up in advance if you want to try it.

Review of Wookey Hole Caves

Fun in the caves 1*

This is a great tourist attraction that never fails to entertain the children. There's loads to do from looking round the caves, to learning how to make paper, finding out about the cave's witch and even catching a glimpse of her. The Cottle's have put a bit of spice into the mixture since they've taken over - bringing a bit of circus life to the caves with a stage show from the witch. And it's in a lovely part of Somerset too. Also check out the yummy waffles in the cafe .. mmm.

Review of Noodle Bar

15 Apr 08, 15:22

Great food 5*

I love this place - the food is such a good price - I always enjoy it and the service is so quick. By the time my friend had ordered and popped to the loo her dinner was waiting for her. It's so simple - a noodle dish - but it's the squid and nibbles on the side that really make it. Delicious. I've been back many, many times.

Review of Pizza Express

15 Apr 08, 15:17

Yum Yum 4*

I adore Pizza and Dough Balls. Mmmm - you can't beat it. This Pizza Express is easy to get to, there's lots of parking nearby or a bus stop nearby. The staff are usually friendly - the food great - and the atmosphere lovely.
