No Goldfish Were Harmed In The Making Of This Chinese 
Obviously the name of this take away doesnt translate well, but rest assured they dont use pet fish in any of their recipes. However they do cook some really nice food and the choice is reasonably big. Service is excellent and they speak very good English so it's easy to get what you want.

Another Really Good Convenience Store
Just past the Haigh Lane turnoff on Oldham Road / Middleton Road this is a really handy convenience store which is open late but charges a bit of a premium for their goods to compensate for the handiness. Nice staff who always seem to be smiling.

Choice Chinese Chippy
For good honest chinese food this place is hard to beat - a really long menu and amazingly fast service - it's hard to understand how they can cook the food so fast sometimes! The prawn crackers melt in your mouth and the sweet and sour chicken is unusually fresh tasting and delightfully sticky.

Limited choice but friendly staff 
I would always prefer to go to somewhere like Phones 4 U when buying a mobile because with Orange shops they only sell their own network so you cant choose the cheapest or best tarrif for your requirements. For what it is, though, this is a perfectly adequate store and the staff are friendly and well informed.

Basic travel agents
There's nothing special about this travel agents. Small and friendly with competent staff and a good selection of brochires however the Co-Op Travel Supermarket a few doors down is much bigger with a far larger selection and more staff so I'd recommend you go there instead.

Great Convenience Store
This place is great for those late night emergencies or when you forget to do your shopping! lol - particularly on a Sunday when everything else is closed this place stays open really late which is brilliant. As you'd expect, the prices are a little higher than supermarkets but such is the price of convenience.

Marvellous Art Shop 
I searched the whole country to try and find a limited edition canvas print and found it here in the end. They reserved it for me, delivered it for free and even put it up on the wall for me. When I went into the shop to pay for it they were really helpful and there were so many other lovely works that I would have loved to buy if I could afford it. And the size of the place enables them to display many works on the walls so it's easy to find something you like. I particularly liked the amazing glass artworks which are hard to describe but when you see them they totally blow you away!

Lovely family restaurant
This is genuinely a family business. Not part of a chain and specialising in really nice, wholesome English food. You can come here for Sunday lunch and it's like you're at home. The steak's lovely too and they do a great theatre menu at a good price. Definitely recommended.

Pizza Heaven
You can take someone here on a date and it doesnt seem like you're being cheap! You probably couldnt get away with taking them to Pizza Hut... The image of this place is perfect for a classy night... and the food's great too. Check out the Fiorentina pizza and dont miss out on the amazing salads. You can see them making the pizzas too which is very reassuring.

Busy but efficient
There used to be a Wendy's on Briggate which I really loved so now when I go here I always feel like it's second best. But the service and cleanliness are accpetable and they keep the restaurant tidy, clearing away trays promptly and always seem to have the food ready when you order it.
