Review of Giraffe
21 May 07, 21:11
Family friendly restaurant
Giraffe is a restaurant/cafe with a 'healthy' theme. The food is from around the world and so there is a large choice. Staff are very friendly and the interior design is very bright, fresh and happy. When I've been to Giraffe, it's usually been for brunch, so I can recommend the pancakes with blueberries, and the muesli with yogurt and fruit. Giraffe is definitely a happy experience, and kids are welcome.

Review of Gap
21 May 07, 21:02
Simple clothes shop
Gap sells the essential items - t-shirts, jumpers, jeans and skirts. All of the designs are simple and plain, well made and well fitting. My boyfriend seems to live in this stuff, choosing only to wear block colours, it gets on my nerves.

Review of Fortnum and Mason
20 May 07, 18:03
Unbelievably posh supermarket
Fortnum and Mason is a very famous shop that attracts thousands of tourists every day. It is also frequented by the extremely rich. It's certainly an experience to wander round the shop and ogle the goods and gasp at the prices. Fortum and Mason sells products you would find in a supermarket , but of course of the highest quality around.

Review of IKEA
15 May 07, 22:28
Swedish furniture
Ikea is the world famous furniture store, selling everything from beds to wine glasses. The design is simple and modern, and the prices are very reasonable. This branch of Ikea is very convenient for North Londoners, and is easier to get to by car than the other London branch in the West.

Review of Heal's
15 May 07, 21:58
Posh deparment store
Heals is my Mum's favourite shop, and I think that pretty much sums it up. Heals sells kitchenware, curtains, linen, sofas, and gifts. The products are extremely high quality, and as I say my mum swears by them. Unsurprisingly, the prices are high, but the quality makes it worth it.

Review of Harrods
14 May 07, 20:02
Famous department store
Harrods is surely one of the most famous department stores on earth. I'm pretty sure most people don't visit Harrods with the intention of buying lots of homeware or food; it's more the experience. It is very popular therefore with tourists. I enjoy watching the excessively rich Knightsbridge residents actually buying their weekly shop from the food hall , madness! Harrods is worth a visit, but probably not worth spending any money in, as it is just so expensive.

Review of Sainsbury's

A Well Designed Sainsburys? Never!
I wouldn't normally review a Sainsburys but this one is particularly interesting. It was designed by Nicholas Grimshaw who also did the Eden Project in Cornwall. It's a really futuristic looking design, which is odd given the fact it is in less than futuristic Camden. At the back are a number of apartments that look over Camden Locks, not bad for a supermarket. Did I mention they sell food too?

Review of Fresh and Wild
03 May 07, 20:33
Trendy organic food store
Fresh and Wild is an organic supermarket, which is very popular among health conscious North Londoners. There is also a great selection of deli style food, and the smoothie bar is unique. The tables and chairs outside the front of Fresh and Wild make it a good place to go for a gossip and a health kick. There is a particularly vile smoothie that includes wheatgrass and various other superfoods that promises to make you healthy and fit....I can't stand the taste, but fall for the lure of health in a glass everytime.

Review of Fredericks
02 May 07, 22:51
Elegant and traditional restaurant
Fredrick's is the most expensive and luxurious restaurant in Angel. It is famous throughout north London as a fantastic place to go for a real treat. The food is very traditional and delicious, and the high prices match the elegance and quality of the restaurant. Not the sort of place you pop into on a Friday night after work! The 2 function rooms are perfect for big occasions - we hired one out for my Mum's 60th Birthday and had a fantastic time. Note that Fredrick's is traditional rather than fashionable, probably appealing more to those celebrating a 60th than a 21st!
