Review of Harpers Book Shop
30 May 08, 13:06
Don't get lost in there!
A rambly old bookshop that is crammed full of second hand books, you can easily while away a whole afternoon here. You won't find the latest bestsellers here but you'll always get a real find - really random selection but the owner is extremely knowledgable - he's probably read every single book in there!

Handy
Just around the corner from work, this branch is great for me. They only have 2 cashiers but if you can pop in outside of busy times (ie lunch) you don't normally have to wait for long. The staff are all extremely friendly, with the Bank Manager always on hand for a chat if needs be.

Review of Tesco Stores

A good stop off point!
This little Tesco Express is a great place to stop off for bits and bobs. They have a good selection of fresh food on offer, although the veg is a little limited. They have recently installed the self service tills, which don't appear to be working as they should be! It does get pretty busy between 5-6pm but the service is quick and the staff are always chatty.

Review of Sundeckers Luxury Tanning Studio

Good staff.
The girls here are lovely, they always make an effort - remembering your name etc and happy to chat. They only have the lay down beds here but they're pretty powerful. They also do manicure etc here. There's a nice waiting area with mags and a tv, which is good if you have to wait for a bed. Not that you have to, as it never gets too busy.

Review of Langney Library
30 May 08, 12:46
A good choice
Despite being a small library, there's a good selection of books here. There's also a few computers set up so you have internet access (although not very personal if what you're doing is private!) The only thing wrong with the library is the opening times - I'm never sure when they're open!

Small but good choice
Right in the centre of Winton this branch is great to pick up on some high quality grub. I used to always shop here as you can take advantage of their 2 story car park. You can use it for free and stay there as long as you like, so it's good if you fancy a meander round the shops in Winton too (not that there's much on offer!) There's a small bakery section and quite a large choice of wines.

Review of Marks & Spencer

A little shabby.....
Not the most modern branch of M&S it could do with a bit of a refurb. There is an average sized food section here but it gets extremely busy over the weekends. The clothing section is a little shambolic, it's the first M&S I've visited where they play music from a tiny stereo plugged in on the floor! There's 2 floors, and they've added a cafe upstairs. Always a bit odd to be shopping for bra's whilst smelling shepherds pie!

YMCA!
I swear I saw the Village people in here last night! The place is full of men with handlebar moustaches and vests. Not a place I'd usually frequent, I was surprised to have a really good night here. Not one to visit on your own, you need to be in a big group to have fun here. It's wall to wall men, very small and cramped so a little sweaty. Good place to go if you're trollied and drinks are AMAZINGLY cheap - 3 double vodkas for £6!!

Hilarious!
I had my first experience of this 'legendary' bar last night - one not to be missed if you want to camp it up for the night. This place is great if there's a big crowd. There is always a bit of entertainment - last night was a drag queen, who was ok but not the best. The layout is nice, with plenty of seating and a large bar so getting served is not a problem. There's also a good outside area, so it would be nice during the day.

Review of Eastbourne Pier
29 May 08, 13:41
A close 2nd...
Looks wise, Eastbourne pier is impressive. It's well kept, with beautiful gardens (Award winning) either side. The paintwork on the pier is all kept fresh and clean, making it look one of the better piers I've visited. There's plenty on the pier but it doesn't quite match up with Brighton's. There is a great arcade to keep kids amused and plenty of places to snack. Also, the club at the end is a pretty large venue.

Small but alright
This particular branch is pretty jammed with clothing. It's quite small, so try and stay away in busy periods. Also, there's no air conditioning whatsoever, so with the fitting rooms at the back it can get a little 'odourous' on a hot day! There's a good choice of clothes here though and you can normally snap up a bargain or two.

Good Food!
I agree with Kathryn, the cafe here is pretty good. I often meet my Dad here for breakfast - good value and always served up hot (unlike lots of other supermarket restaurants) Its quite large too, so you don't feel like you're sitting on someone else's lap. This branch also has quite a large electrical selection, have bought a few cheap TV's here - they don't last long but very, very reasonable!

Review of Sainsburys

A Winner!
If ever I am planning on a large shop, I always visit this particular store. It's probably the best Sainsbury's in the area, with all the shelves well stocked - you can find pretty much everything you're after! Parking is excellent too, so you can stock up on lots without having to walk miles to your car. Worth a visit

Review of The Mill
28 May 08, 13:18
Good food but no staff!
This place has the potential to be a really nice venue. It's quite large, with a lovely beer garden and play area for the kids. The menu here is better than your average chain restaurant (although don't expect anything too fresh!) My biggest problem here is the staff. The few they have are very good but, considering the size of the place they need more! The last time I visited, there were 2 waitresses serving the bar, the outside and inside so their attention to detail was poor. You felt guilty to say anything as it wasn't really their fault! A good place for young families to visit.

Review of Cooper's Magic Shops
28 May 08, 13:12
Perfect for a party!
This is a little better than your average fancy dress shop. You can always find little extras here, there's a particularly good selection of magic tricks. In the centre of town, it's really easy to find too. Although parking can be a bit of a problem it's a great place to visit for anything quirky or unusual.

Review of Alfresco

A great spot
Always busy, this is a great stop off point if you're wandering into Brighton via the seafront. There are plenty of tables, all with a view facing the sea. I've never eaten lunch here, but have been to a few parties. It's a great venue for a private function, you can hire a whole floor with plenty of space for a DJ etc. The food and drink is all lovely too, despite the drinks being a little on the costly side.

Small but perfectly formed...
This branch has everything you need for a trip away - a good selection of books if you're planning on a long train journey and plenty of choice in papers and mags too. It's a small shop but has everything you need - including cigarettes, which is very handy to know!

A Good Selection
This small branch of Tesco's has quite a good selection of fresh food, more than your average store. There's also 2 large fridges of alcohol, which makes it a popular stop off on the way home from work! The only drawback is that there are only 2 tills, which means you can end up in a very long queue. Also, the parking outside is non existent.

Review of Brighton Station
23 May 08, 16:50
A little shabby
Brighton Station is a nightmare to get to by car but there is an area round the back (if you can get there) where you can wait for free. Generally, this station is extremely busy with lots of people rushing about. The staff are relatively helpful but can be a little grumpy during busy periods. The ticket office is always extremely busy too, so probably best to buy your tickets in advance.

Review of Hove station
23 May 08, 16:47
Adequate
This is not the best station I've been to but not the worst by far! Despite being small, there is plenty of choice for coffee, flowers, papers etc. It's reasonably clean and well kept but I would say it could be a bit of a nightmare during busy times. There are a few fast track ticket machines, so if you don't need to get any travel advice, it's probably best to use these. Also, there's not alot of parking outside so try and avoid taking your car.

Review of Lloyds Lanes
09 May 08, 15:03
Busy busy...
This bowling centre gets extremely busy. There are a lot of lanes so you can usually get to play, however I would suggest booking if you're going for a special occasion. The age group tends to be of a younger crowd, usually teens, so it can be quite noisy. However, makes a good alternative to a night in the pub.

Review of Monsieur Deli
08 May 08, 16:42
A great alternative
Just round the corner from McDonalds, Monsieur Deli offers a great alternative to a big mac. There's no frills here, just lots of freshly baked baguettes and plenty of fillings to choose from. The prices are reasonable, considering it's right in the shopping centre. I recommend their brie baguettes - YUM!

Review of The Rodmill
08 May 08, 16:09
Great place
The Rodmill has recently been done up and is now a great place to while away a sunny afternoon. The inside is light and airy and there's plenty of seating outside to enjoy a sunny day. The menu is really good, with a great choice of traditional pub grub. And, as most of my male friends will tell you, it's great for talent spotting as there is a sixth form college opposite with plenty of women wandering past!

Review of Caffe Nero
08 May 08, 16:05
It's all about the outside!
This is probably one of the busiest coffee places in Hove - not necessarily due to the quality of the coffee (which is pretty similar to anywhere else) It's more to do with the seating outside, as it's located on a busy corner on Church Road you can pretty much spend all day in the sunshine, people spotting. I love it here and am always envious of the people calmly sunning themselves amongst all the mayhem of Church Road.

Review of River Island Clothing Co
08 May 08, 15:40
Average
Not the best branch of River Island I've been in but it's certainly not the worst. It's reasonably sized, with the one floor per section - the shoe selection downstairs is probably the highlight of this branch. The changing rooms are a little on the smelly side and qutie small, so I always tend to wait til I get home to try anything on.

Review of Starbucks
08 May 08, 15:33
Recently Opened
Right in the shopping centre, this Starbucks has only been open a few months. For their launch, they gave away free sandwiches which was a nice touch. As this is situated in a shopping centre, it's quite a small branch so seating can be a problem and there is no out side seating. It's got everything you'd expect though, a nice range of food and coffees. The service is adequate although nothing really stands out.

Review of Chap's Barber Shop
08 May 08, 14:42
Not bad for Polegate!
This is my Dad's barber shop - he has been going here for years and alwys finds them very friendly. Prices are extremely reasonable for a trim - I think it's about a fiver. Situated right in the middle of the High Street they get alot of people 'popping' in so it can get pretty busy. From the outside it doesn't look very impressive but the service makes up for it.

Review of Top Shop Retail
08 May 08, 14:37
Average
This is a reasonably sized topshop, there's plenty of choice for both men and women. I would say the changing rooms leave alot to be desired - usually quite smelly and not much privacy - there are only 3 actual private booths, with tatty curtains that hide nothing! Also, there is only one till point to pay at, so you can find yourself queueing to pay for a long time. Not the best branch I've visited.

Review of Chase Veterinary Centre
08 May 08, 14:33
Nice staff
Despite being a small veterinary centre, Chase is extremely busy. The vet that looked after my family's animals was extremely thoughtful and considerate, he helped us through a painful time with one of our dogs. Always respectful, the staff genuinely care about the animals and offer really helpful advice when it comes to difficult times. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend here, despite it never being a place anyone wants to go to!

Review of Next Retail
08 May 08, 11:07
Not great
This particular branch is ok, it's not that big so the choice is pretty limited. The staff are helpful and will offer to call other branches if items are not in your size. They do have the 'catalogue' people that pounce on you when you walk in, but I think that's pretty much every branch you go in nowadays. They do have a small homeware section, right at the back.

Review of Freemasons Tavern
03 May 08, 10:30
Busy but not for me...
I have visited here quite a few times and am yet to leave feeling like I've enjoyed it there. It's always really busy with loud loud music! There is a real 'Brighton' feel to the decor, quirky and interesting but a little odd? Upstairs has a nice cocktail bar, but the lighting is a little stark - everyone seems to have a blue tinge! Also, the seating is very haphazard, you can be perched on a stool whilst your friend has been swallowd up by a battered old armchair. I always feel that this place looks good on the surface, but it's not particularly practical? A good place to stop off on the way into town but don't spend your whole evening there (unless you've got stuck in one of the armchairs)

Review of Tesco Stores
02 May 08, 16:13
Avoid peak times
This is probably the best place for big food shops in Hove - the store is huge and seems to stock more variety than your normal Tesco. As I drive by here on my way home from work, I quite often pop in for bits. However, it's not the best place for 'popping' in - the barrier system is a nightmare and extremely confusing. I would suggest going later in the evening when there is less traffic & people, so you can spend some time rather than getting frustrated at every minor thing.

Review of Tin Drum
02 May 08, 16:09
Very Hove!
This bar comes highly recommended by all my friends, however whenever I have been here I've always found it a little too busy. (must be my age) The bar is quite small so it can take an age getting served and there's not alot of seating. However, I have always been here on a busy weekend night, so perhaps this place needs to be for daytimes and weeknights. There is a nice seated area outside, which would be good for a sunny day. Worth a try!

Review of Flower Stand The
30 Apr 08, 20:54
Alot of money for what it is...
With this flower stall, you really pay over top for what aren't going to last for very long. There is always plenty of choice here and they dress the flowers up really prettily. However, they don't tend to last very long and I've often found flowers from a supermarket are of a better quality. If you want to make a grand gesture, then this is the place to go. But if you want flowers that are going to last, try M&S

Review of Dewdrop Inn
30 Apr 08, 20:11
Average
I used to drink in this pub alot but the last few times I went it had changed hands and was not so good. The decor is nice but there is no real atmosphere. It's very quiet in there, with lots of people drinking on their own at the bar. The bar staff are all friendly but it's not a great place to go with a big group. They do a pub quiz, which is taken very seriously - they don't like hecklers!

Review of Mr Hau Of Eastbourne
30 Apr 08, 20:03
Great Buffet.
Unlike some of the other Chinese's in Eastbourne, Mr Hau do a great buffet. There's 2 set prices, so you know your budget before you've even started and 2 set menus to choose from. There's absolutely loads of choice and no limit on how much you order. It's a brilliant way of sampling dishes you've never tried, if you don't like it just order something else! Also, the food is really fresh and cooked to order, which makes it a whole lot nicer. The actual decor is a little old fashioned but who cares when the food is so good!

Review of Chambers
30 Apr 08, 19:57
Small but perfectly formed
Chambers marks the first in line for the 'South Street Shuffle' It's a great pub that's always busy with some proper, hardcore drinkers! They provide some great entertainment if you pop in for a quick drink and there's a great atmosphere. As it's a small pub, it can get a bit hot and sweaty. Also, you do end up sitting very close to your fellow drinkers but this can also lead to some interesting nights! A good choice.

Santa's Grotto
This pub is brilliant around Christmas time, with twinkling lights festooning every surface area. You really feel like you are in Santa's Grotto! It's cosy throughout the Winter, with big comfy seats and some lovely little alcoves. There is no real provision for smokers, so if may be one to avoid if you enjoy a ciggy with your beer.

Review of J.D Wetherspoon
30 Apr 08, 19:49
Sticky Sticky!
This place is what you'd expect from a Wetherspoons, although I imagine there are better ones. The place gets extremely busy, throughout the day and weekends. It's a good spot to watch any big footy matches but it does get a little rowdy. The bar, carpet and tables are all covered in various sticky substances and there are enough dirty old men propping up the bar to put you off ever going back. However, as a Wetherspoons, the prices are really cheap so it's a good pub to neck a few drinks in on a night out.

Review of Wheatsheaf Inn
30 Apr 08, 19:44
Local pub for local people...
The Wheatsheaf is a lovely quaint little pub, tucked away from the hustle and bustle (ahem) of Willingdon. It generally gets busy with locals, lots of regular drinkers so it can have a really good atmosphere. There is a little bit of a feeling of everyone turning to stare as you walk in but that soon goes. They quite often do entertainment on the weekends, although it tends to be of the 'singing duo' variety - good for a singalong!

Review of Komedia
30 Apr 08, 13:59
Great for Groups
As with all comedy venues, this place really depends on the night.
Venue wise, it is one of the better ones, with plenty of seating in quite a small area. This gives it a more intimate feel as you can interact more with the acts.
The food isn't great - most of it is of the 'in a basket' variety but the beer is good, with jugs available for the thirsty ones out there!
A great place to go if you've a group of friends visiting.

Review of Route 22
30 Apr 08, 13:55
Nowhere near Route 22!
This American Diner is a little out of the way but well worth a visit. The food is typical of a diner but they have some lovely touches - the coleslaw is home made and the burgers are huge! It's great for families with small kids as they offer wireless headphones for them to watch non stop cartoons on the big plasma tv's that are on every wall. Offers up a relatively peaceful meal for parents too!

Review of Orange Square
30 Apr 08, 13:50
It's not Square
A nice bar in the Heath, this place gets extremely busy over the weekend. The drinks are a little on the costly side but it's no more than you'd pay in a big town. There is a big outside area, which gets rammed with bodies. Particularly when the sun is shining! The music is ok, tends to lean towards the 80's.

Review of Tally Ho
30 Apr 08, 13:47
Needs a refurb.
The Tally Ho is traditional - lots of dark beams, alcoves and paisley carpets. It's a great place on a cold Winter's night, particularly around Christmas as they deck the entire place with millions of fairy lights. Also, they have lovely open fire which adds a really nice atmosphere. I have never eaten here but the menu is quite old school - fish and chips, hotpots etc.

One of the better ones...
Of all the choices of cafe's in Portslade, this marks higher than the rest. The decor is fresh and modern, with big comfy chairs.
The food is a little on the costly side but it's all fresh and their selection is good.
One drawback would be the length of time it takes to get your food, if you're only on a short break give it a miss.

Review of The Mash Tun
30 Apr 08, 13:34
Very studenty....
I have always liked the atmosphere in this pub, it has a quirky feel to it and as it is quite small it always has a buzzing atmosphere. Very popular with students and young folk, with people spilling out on to the street. There is quite a large seating area outside, which is great in the summer. Also, they have a great game called 'Celebrity Deathwall' (I think it's called that) - pay a pound and pick a celeb who is next to pop their clogs and if you get it right you win the money pot! A great twist!

Review of Centre Drug Store
28 Apr 08, 21:09
Hilarious
This place never fails to make me laugh. I think, whilst Polegate has generally moved with the times, this place is well and truly stuck in the 70's. It's a real Aladdins Cave, with Ellnette hairspray and shopping baskets. You could probably do all your Christmas shopping here, and save yourself the trouble of traipsing around lots of shops. I think the staff are in their 70's too so don't expect quick service! A real find.

This shop is great for all those odd bits you forget or run out of. It has a great wine selection, although it's not cheap. There is a small choice of fresh veg but not a huge choice. Review of Frankie & Benny's

Does what it says on the tin
I've had good and bad meals here. It depends on how busy it is (can sometimes take a long time to get a seat and be served) and what staff are working on the day. The menu is good, what you'd expect really but the meatballs are delicious. However, I do have a friend who got sever food poisoning from here so have stayed away since. It may have been a one off but I haven't wanted to take the risk yet! You're a braver person than me if you do!

Pick a good night...
I have been to quite a few comedy nights here and they've all been pretty good. The venue is pretty good, as long as it's full but it is looking a little shabby around the edges. The bar is ok but can get really busy during the intervals, so best to get in a little earlier. The food is your typical 'in a basket' meals but it's ok. Plus, they do jugs of beer which is always a winner!

This is a great place to visit if you've got the hunger - the choice of burgers is incredible and there's a real authentic Diner feel to the place. Now called Stones!!
This is a recently opened sandwich shop and one of the better ones. They have a wide menu, ranging from full on English Breakfasts to some very tasty jacket spuds. You can eat in but I tend to takeaway as it can seem a little cold in there. Also, I would not recommend going if you are in a rush. They are pretty slow at preparing the food and I have often been kept waiting a good half an hour. It's also a little pricey, with jackets costing £4.50. Not one for every day!

Great pub to watch any major sporting event in. They have a massive screen, plus plenty of others dotted around so you can catch all the action. Good Location
This place is really central if you're shopping in town and fancy a quick coffee, there's a nice seating area outside with good shelter if it's raining. It's a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Have been to a Christmas party there, which despite my low expectations, was quite good. The food was all reasonable and, despite the staff being rushed off their feet, they remained smiley and happy. A good all rounder.

Run by the lovely Danny, who has been in Polegate High Street from the year dot, KAo Wah is a great little takeaway. The menu is very basic (no crispy seaweed even!) but the food is all fresh and the portions are large. If you get to know Danny, he'll quite often throw in the odd freebie - I got some Lychees for my birthday!

You'll always find a warm welcome here, it's a proper local's pub. There is a small dining area, although most people tend to eat in the bar. There are 2 drinking 'areas' - one for the regulars and one for the more 'young' crowd. Good house doubles!

Review of The Victoria

A Pub's Pub!
The Vic is what you'd class as a 'proper pub' - sticky carpets and all! The drinks are cheap, the staff are nice and the food is traditional but also cheap. Their karaoke nights prove popular, with many regulars enjoying the mic! Good place to go for after work drinks and one of the few that provide quite well for the smokers.

Review of Peppino's Restaurant

One of the better ones
This is a real gem tucked away in Charminster. There's a really nice atmosphere in here and the staff are friendly and helpful. Their risotto's are delicious and well recommended, plus the bonus is that you don't have to trek all the way into town!

Review of The Bank Wine Bar
25 Apr 08, 16:40
As expected
This bar is so so. During the day, it tends to be empty, other than the regulars propping up the bar. Night times are generally quite busy but people tend to only pop in rather than spend the whole night there. I personally find the decor a bit off putting - lots of reflective surfaces and 80's lighting. Not my favourite places!

Review of Sharkeys Pool Venue

Don't eat the food!
Despite not being a pool shark, I really enjoy going here. The beer is cheap and there's plenty of tables, so you never have to wait. Best if a group of you go rather than a couple. The only downside would be the food - which is cheap and extremely greasy. It's basically chips, chips and more chips!

Review of The Moon In The Square

Wether it's a Wetherspoons or not...
...it's a pretty lame pub. It's gets really busy, mainly due to the cheap deals they do on drinks and meals. The pint and a curry night was always popular. This particular Wetherspoons is probably more disappointing than the rest - it's in need of a refurb and the staff need a bit of customer service training!

Review of Post Office

Despite it's handy location, this Post Office is pretty useless on supplies. I have never had any problems posting things thankfully but it's the only Post Office I've been in that sells cigarettes?? Sellnig single stamps is a nice touch as not many places do nowadays

Review of Bar Vin
24 Apr 08, 17:03
Busy-ish
Bar Vin is not as popular as it used to be - tends to be more of an older crowd but still gets busy on a Fri/Saturday night. Good place to visit on a night out but wouldn't be thep lace to spend your entire night. Music tends to lean towards the cheesey side - plenty of Wham!

Review of Coriander Mexican Restaurant

Tequila!
This restaurant is more about the atmosphere, than the food. Whilst the menu is what you'd expect (apart from maybe the tequila sorbet) the feel of the place is great. It's got a real buzz about it and it's a nice touch that you can draw your own placemats. Interesting to see all the drawings that plaster the walls!

Review of The Blind Busker

A Pubby Pub
This pub is not glossy, or showy. It's just a great pub for beer, football and your mates! Have enjoyed a few messy evenings there and vaguely remember they do some good jugs of cocktails! I have heard the food is not so hot but it's a great place for a few beers after work. Also, there's quite a nice area outside which is a real sun trap.

Review of Qualisea Fish Restaurant

Old School!
One of the busiest restaurants in Eastbourne, very popular with young and old. It's in a great spot to grab a takeaway and wander down to the seafront (although watch out for the greedy seagulls) Not the best for parking but perfect if you're shopping in town and feeling hungry.

Review of Stanmer House

Perfect Party Place!
Stanmer House is a real quality venue, perfect for a large party - whether it be for work or friends/family.
I enjoyed a brilliant Christmas do here, the setting is beautiful, the staff were professional and the food was delicious.
You need to have a big group to enjoy it to it's full capacity and I imagine it would be brilliant in the Summer.

Review of Fratelli

Slightly disappointing
I really like the feel of this place - the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is good. I was a little disappointed with the food - the menu is Italian 'with a twist' but it can be a bit hit & miss. Great olives though.

Review of Enterprise Shopping Centre
24 Apr 08, 14:02
Good choice
The Enterprise has 2 floors of quirky and interesting shops - from bookshops to butchers! Not so good for clothes but a really good lingerie shop has just opened it's doors. Also, there's a brilliant Noodle bar, which is great for a tasty lunch. Upstairs you'll find more on the health and beauty side, with health shops, acupncture etc. A great alternative to the main shopping centre.

Review of Walkabout Inn

Spit & Sawdust
This place is heaving on the weekends, with plenty of talent. It's more of a spit and sawdust kind of place but after a few sambuca's - who cares! I wouldn't recommend this bar as a place for a quiet, intimate drink but they do some good themed nights so it's perfect for a big group of pals.

Review of Oliver's Sandwich Bar
24 Apr 08, 13:40
Tasty bite!
Olivers is what you'd expect from a sandwich shop. There's a wide choice of fillings for sandwiches and Jacket Potatoes, plus daily specials. Not every filling is delicious but it's all fresh and served with a smile and a chat from the lovely Oliver's Ladies. Worth a try.

Work Fave
A popular choice for after work drinks, this pub gets quite busy and has a nice buzz to it. The food is proper pub grub, with a good selection for veggies. The Sunday Roasts are particularly good, although hard to eat if you've gone for the sofa option! Also, stay away from Sunday lunchtime if you are not keen on kids, it can get extremely tiring on your eardrums with all the screeching and running about. Good outdoor area for smokers, although the heating could be better. Bar staff are friendly and happy to perform, my last visit included the barmaid doing an impression of the lady in the Baileys ad, who shakes about all over the shop. Particularly amusing after a few large wines.

Review of Maxims
23 Apr 08, 19:28
Cheezathon!
I LOVE Maxims, purely for it's naffness. It was recently revamped but the essence remains the same - a late night wine bar for the over 30's. The main bar is good for drunken chats, with comfy sofa's. Downstairs is the tiniest dance floor to shake your thang to. Music tends to be the obvious choices but after a few Sambuca's - who cares!?!?!

Review of Greenhouse

My Fave
This bar is a popular choice for me. Despite be a little out the way, it has a really lovely feel to the place and the staff are always friendly. It can be a little dingy (probably why I like it!) but it's perfect for a cold, wet winter night. Always a good place for after work drinks - age group tends to be 25 upwards and it gets very busy on a Friday and Saturday night with the pre-club crowd.

Review of Via Bar
23 Apr 08, 19:10
Location, Location, Location.
The best bit about Via is probably it's location. It's directly opposite the train station, so always a good place to start off your night out. The upstairs part is good for private partys but please don't get me started on the toilets. They are vile. It's always a busy bar, day or night so good on atmosphere.

Review of Hudsons Wine Bar
23 Apr 08, 19:01
Average
Hudsons can be a good place to meet up and enjoy a cocktail, as long as you're with a big group. I personally find there is a bit of a lack of atmosphere, particularly if it's not busy. Drinks are a little on the costly side too. It's the kind of place I like to pop in to but not spend the whole night.
