pub crawl 
This place is one of the stop offs for the regular pub crawls down the welly road. Its not a bad pub either even though at weekends the welly road can be a little scary with some random drunk people wandering the streets.

Sunnyside
This place attracts alot of students but then it is right near the College. The drinks are all reasonably priced infact you might find them cheaper than town, and the food is good value for money too.

Good ol Elephant
This place has tried to change names a few times, but it is the White Elephant and always will be. It still attracts students and goths but its great in the summer if you walking round the racecourse, or when the fair is on. Not alot of parking available though.

Its ok
This place is ok, nice large bar. But you have to make sure you are drinking at all times, they dont even like you using the toilets if you havent brought a drink yet. It attracts the young, but handy for a drink before or after dinner at Joes Diner

Massive Bar
Right in the centre of town, this place is really big, lots of door men and very little trouble. There is a nice place out back for when the sun comes out and its very popular and very often packed at the weekends. It attracts all ages, but mainly youngsters.

This place used to be ok, especially in the summer with a nice seating area out back. It seems to attract some serious drinkers and doesnt have alot of atmosphere now though. Its probably your one drink pub before moving on.

Trendy 
This place is owned by the same people who own Aunty Ruths and most of Northampton. Its a decent venue with a nice long bar, and attracts a nicer crowd than you would normally get on the Kettering Road. Its good for sports too with a nice big screen.

This place is a good start for your night out, but probably not one you would want to stay in all night. I have always found it a little clinical and lacking in atmosphere, it feels quite forced. But the drinks arent over priced so thats a good thing.

Corner Pub
This place is soo much posher now than it used to be, i think it used to have more atmosphere when my feed used to stick to the carpet. But it attracts a much classier clientele now and is a decent place to spend a friday night.

Classy after refit
This place is sooo much nicer than it ever used to be, with nice places to sit and decent comfortable chairs and sofas, and canvas paintings i think about stealing everytime im in there. A really nice place altho a little out of the centre.

cute pub in the hood
I live opposite this pub and love it, the food is lush, especially the steak. And so far I have seen Timothy Dolton and Imogen Stubbs in there, many more celebs apparently go in here but I always seem to miss them. Parking is a bit of a nightmare at night time.

Good start to the night
This is a great pub to start the night in the theatre district, and is in the heart of the action. Good service from the bar and they dont keep you waiting too long. Its the sort of pub you move on from after a couple though.

Chic eating
This place attracts a very nice clientele. It offers very nice private dining and holds some good functions. The food used to be alot nicer, with a complicated menu to chose from. But the service is good , the ambience always spot on and nice place to sit, eat an chill out.

This is very much a local pub. Its not long had new owners who have brought some new nights to the pub, good if you like your karaoke. Not that many places to park, but then it attracts mainly locals anyway.

Unmissable 
This pub is Shenleys little secret, hidden on an estate that you wouldnt find by accident. A large pub in nice grounds, with lots of seating outside aswell as in. Very nice menu and service, great desserts and decent wine. Can get very very busy so best reserve a table.

Now the Black Horse
Its just had a referb, altho you might not notice that much. Still great food and brilliant in the summer sitting right next to the canal with plenty of tables. Service is really good with some new and attractive waitress's and theres a good pub food menu.

Choose your own meat
This is a great concept with you choosing your meat, from the weird kangeroo to a great steak. And its cooked all infront of you by great chefs. I did find the food wasnt as great after it changed hands, but its still serving good food with decent service and its a nice venue in good grounds. The posh like it too.

Even better in the summer
This place is a great little oldy worldy pub, good for families and often have weekend events on. The garden is the selling point, with lots of tables outside for when the summer actually gets here. The service is good and the food is delivered pretty quickly.

Pub
This is great for watching the rugby and sport. Has many regulars and a tad spit and sawdust. Owners are lovely and put a real personal touch to the place, plus they often have live mic nights and quiz evenings which are really good. Plus they seem to support local charities alot and have usually got some activity going on. Its also got to be one of the cheapest pubs in Newport.
