Review of Gap

Gap
Gap stick to their staples for men yet again. There lines don’t really change. Chinos are the staple… In both trouser and short form. Then layers are the next bit, generally shirts under rugby shirts, yet again nothing to blow your mind here.

Review of Hugo Boss

Deep Pockets Needed
One look at the clothes and you’ll be drawn in, however, one look at the price tag and you might be running for the door. All the clothes will last and the suits will never go out of fashion. If you look closely you’ll realise why they cost more, there’s more going on in the cut and the finish of the clothes (plus stamping the word boss on some of the cheaper items helps bump up the price too) The clothes look great and the staff will advise you on getting them tailored to suit you.

Review of The Original Levis Store
22 Apr 08, 22:30
All the Jeans you could wish for
Nearly every pair of Levis you could imagine here. They have all the cuts and colours you could ask for, however you may need help. Because there are so many pairs of jeans, you can’t really see the wood for the trees. It helps if you have an idea of what you’re after and then the staff can pick out a few things that match your needs and size otherwise you’re in for a long day.

Review of United Colors Of Benetton
22 Apr 08, 22:24
Revival?
United Colours of Benetton have been in a bit of a wilderness recently, but when I went in here it seems to be having a go at being more high street. T-shirts were cut to look fitted which is great if you don’t happen to be the same shape all the way down from shoulders to waist (like Mr Spoon from Button Moon... ask your parents) You can however come out looking a bit odd, I found a white jacked that just made me look like a mad doctor (it actually just made me look like a doctor, I think I added the mad bit myself) Reasonably priced and more to choose from that I thought there has been recently. Well done Benetton.

Review of Tommy Hilfiger
22 Apr 08, 22:21
College Clothing
Tommy Hilfiger is the king of preppy American college clothing. He’s slightly more fashionable than Gap and has moved away from emblazoning every piece of clothing with the brand name making you look like you were wearing, part sweater, part sandwich board. The selection isn’t that great and it’s kind of caught in the same trap as gap... that there isn’t much variation from season to season. However, the clothes are of good quality and will certainly last.

Review of H and M

Wardrobe filler
Ideal if you want to stock up on staples for your wardrobe. You’ll be hard pushed to find something that you’re desperate to own, but you’ll be able to find bits and pieces of clothing that you’re either running out of, or the colour is running out of them. Prices are a bargain in here. If you’re looking for a perfect fit, you probably won’t find it here as everything is square cut.

Review of River Island Clothing Co
22 Apr 08, 18:07
High Street
River island is a more fashionable version of Next. There is plenty of choice and you’re more likely to find the current trends as opposed to Next’s range of slightly safer wear. Prices are very reasonable and the range is extensive, you’re sure to find something you want in there

Review of Timberland

Logging
If you go in here, hoping to hear some of the freshest hip hop producing then you’re going to have to go back and check the spelling on your Nelly Furtado CD.
This is the store for outdoor clothing with the feel of a rugged logger in America. Most famous for their boots and plaid shirts. The selection is reasonable and you won't have to go chasing around department stores trying to find their timberland section as the whole line is right here. Prices are reasonable and the store is set out like the wild west (which will appeal to the big kid in you)

Review of Karen Millen

Weddings and Christenings
I think my girlfriend spent more money in here when Weddings and Christenings came around. Her argument was that everything was very high quality and it would last (didn’t stop her buying a new one for every occasion though)
Although the dresses were pricey, quality was excellent and she was using her credit card

Review of Fat Face
22 Apr 08, 17:42
Pricey
Fat face is a big brand of surf clothing. If you’re off to Cornwall and want to fit in with the surfing set then you can completely kit yourself out in here. Loose fitting beach clothes are the norm here, but they do tend to be more expensive that you would have expected.

Review of Zara
22 Apr 08, 17:29
Slim Fit
High Street fashion with a European flair and cut, Zara’s prices sit at the higher end of the price range, but their clothes are often superior. Everything is a slimmer cut and this medium sized store in Brent Cross has a large proportion of the Zara range that is available for both men and women

Review of Austin Reed

Suits and Shirts
A seller of suits and shirts of good quality. If you’re looking for good quality tailoring at high street prices, then you can do a lot worse than Austin Reed. The staff were helpful when I bought a shirt from here and gave me some advice if I needed to have it taken in to fit me.
