Perfect Sunday in Maidstone

The perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Walk from the town centre through Millenium park and along the river to the Malta Inn. Then you can reward yourself with a cold pint sat outside on one of the benches right next to the river's edge.

The pub is a Beefeater and is typical food wise for the chain. It's not going to set your world on fire, but it's good enough for a lunch. During the Summer, they also have a BBQ going as well, which is a great idea.

You can also take a boat from the town centre to the Malta and it's a great way to see Maidstone without having to drive along the A229

Golf Course

This review is for the golf course

I separated them for obvious reasons. The driving range is great, the golf course isn't

They're currently undergoing building works to expand it. The current 9 holes are scruffy, the greens are a bit like a field and the setting is right next to a motorway and main a road so it's not exactly peaceful. It can get very muddy very quickly and once you've played your way through a pear orchard (where someone always tees a pear at the back of me) you'll be desperate to try and make it to the only decent bit of grass on the green.

They don't really have a properly enforced dress policy so you can see a lot of tracksuits on the course. I'm starting to sound like a golf snob, but there are certain things you expect and this place doesn't deliver
