Review of El Patio

Now Zizzi's
How refreshing - a chain with real style !! This new restaurant for Brighton Marina is a real treat and a great place to go with a few of the girls. Sit inside or outside on the boardwalk on a balmy night and enjoy a good quality well priced piece of italian dining. A small apetizer is delivered as soon as you arrive ( a sort of Italian Gazpacho) and then chose from the fab menu. Staff are keen and attentive and obviously enjoy their job ,,,, dont always need to book but thats only because its new !!!

Review of The Ivy

Thriving Ivy ???????????
I am probably one of the very few who was disappointed when i finally got to eat at The Ivy. I suppose it was because i was expecting crisp linen table cloths, silver service and cut crystal glass .... and there's none to be seen . However once I got over the shock the meal was "nice" the service was "good" and the hot berries with white chocolate sauce a real suprise. However I didnt see any celebrities and I really don't know what all the fuss is about.

Review of Worldwide Wok

Now called Stones
Clean and efficient - great for a quick meeting. Good selection of coffees and tea - toast and jam - or proper food for lunch time tummies. However if you fancy a treat get there at 9am when they are just bringing the chocolate brownies out of the oven and you will be treated to the biggest riches tastiest slab of chocolate you ever did taste ... and then you wont need to eat again all day.

Review of Plough Inn
28 May 08, 21:29
Good Country Pub
If you are travelling from Brighton to Eastbourne on the A27 and you fancy a pub lunch - turn left at Drucillas and go through Berwick .... then soon on your left you will see the Plough. A good pub with good food and a nice garden set in Sussex scenery. Not too far off the beaten track but plenty of folk that will make you feel as though you are.

Review of Wingrove House
27 May 08, 13:13
Fine Cuisine
Wingrove House is idyllic. Set in Alfriston near to the church - this old property has been restored into a beautiful restaurant and boutique style hotel. In the summer you can sit out on the patio under large cream parasols and in the winter you can sit in the restaurant by a roaring fire. The food is sumptuous and local. Pigeon and other meats are available and the wine list has a great selection. Relaxing and very special. Dont tell your friends .... you'll want to keep it to yourself.

Review of Badgers Watch
26 May 08, 21:29
Great Views
The best thing about the Badgers Watch is the view of the cliffs in the summer and the log fires in the winter.(when they light them)! The food is good quality and the puddings are great !!! Friendly and cosy - a great place to have your tea.

Review of Yew Tree

A proper country pub
Set in the beautiful village of Arlington, The Yew Tree is my favourite country pub. They serve up good and generous portions of top quality pub food, and the staff are friendly. It has a great garden to sit in on warm evenings and the village has a lovely friendly feel which ruminates into the pub.

Review of Shoots Garden Centre
26 May 08, 21:01
Shoot to the top !
I love Shoots. Its the best Garden Centre i have ever been to and you could spend a whole day there. The range of plants is exceptional - the staff incredibly helpful - things for the kids to do and a top cafe! I wish I lived closer - actually I dont as I would have no money as it has got so many lovely things. You have to go to see the wide variety of things on offer ...and if you want to find something for the garden a little bit special - go to Shoots.

Review of Wyevale Garden Centres
26 May 08, 20:56
It's got plants
... and furniture, gifts flowers and things for your pet. The selection of plants isn't very inspiring but you can get your basics. Its expensive and always difficult to find some one to help you - but at least you can park your car. Next to Brighton Racecourse ... its a big site - just a little disappointing inside. Oh yeah and its high on a hill so usually windy and a bit chilly,

Review of Toni & Guy

People can see you in your foils!
The large glass fronted hairdressers is probably one of the largest in Brighton. They also probably have some of the most up to date stylists in Brighton. They are also obviously doing very well as they have been there for years and are now open on Sundays. A bit pricey and then you have to pay to park somewhere too - but if you need a top class cut - i would recommend this classy / urban/ trendy salon.
