Steak, Chips, Red Wine
I had high hopes for this place. My friend who works in the city has a taste for the finer things in life, and being a red blooded banker as he is, there is no exception to the rule when it comes to steak.
Time Out voted this place the best steaks in London, and the Metro says it has the "best steaks this side of the bond." This place had a lot to live up to and boy did it.
First thing to mention is that they will get you any cut within 48 hours. If you have a particular desire for a blade steak then just ask, it will be worth it.
I went for their Sirloin, still on the bone, cooked medium rare and weighing 600g. It was heaven. Cooked perfectly, served with a "triple cooked chips" which, if a little on the small size, were otherwise a perfect companion. All washed down with a bottle of Rioja.
If you're going to take me for a meal -take me here.

Review of The Bedroom Bar

East End Contingency Plan
I find that nights out with little planning can often descend into chaos. Everyone has a better plan than everyone else of what to do and they all tend to fail. Queues are too long, prices are too rich for some peoples wallet, and others just hate the idea of going somewhere crowded.
Faced with such a dilemma in Shoreditch and many end up heading home. I on the other hand have a East End ace in the hole.
Bedroom Bar is by no means the trendiest venue, the music can be hit and miss. But it is always cheap to get in, always open until 2 or 3, and reasonably priced. It has a smoking terrace for those who would complain otherwise, and a section at the back of the club for people who want to sit (or ly) down.
What's great is that it also has a humorous touch of Barley. Notice the clocks above the bar: Palestine, Groznia, Kabul, Shoreditch.
