I've been to Kerala - so take it from me 
I know what I am talking about - I went to Kerala earlier this year - and on a side note your should definitely visit too.
If I closed my eyes while I was eating the dosa masala I could have easily been back there. Wind in my face - South Indian Ocean lapping gently againts my feet.
The starters were equally wonderful, the deepfriend aubergine and mango chutneys exactly how I remembered them.
Everything was perfect - right down to the banana crisps they servce you before the meal.
