Fancy Venue 4*

This is an impressive venue inside - I saw Explosions in the Sky here. There are multiple levels and several bars. A decent place to see bands.

Review of London Zoo

Zootastic 4*

It's a zoo, and it's a good one. I have never been to London Zoo before even though it is quite famous and I wasn't disappointed, apart from the fact that we couldn't find the penguins because they have been moved.

There are a lot of animals there including lions, monkeys, tigers, monkeys, gorillas, dragons and fish. Ohh, and llamas! Good times.

They don't have any rhinos though so my parents weren't eaten and I didn't need to go and live in a giant peach. Can't complain.

Review of Westminster Underground Station

Best Station Ever 5*

This is by far the best station in the world. It's all futuristic and modern with doors on the platform, glass walls, lights on the escalators and elaborate pipe systems. If you have to go to any station, go to this one. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Review of Pizza Hut

Warm pizza 2*

When I ordered a pizza online from Pizza Hut, it came from here. Have to say, the text on the box "You won't believe how hot it is in here" was true - I thought it would be really hot, but it wasn't at all. I couldn't believe that it was just warm. Eatably warm, but still, you want hot pizza.

And if you like salty cheese, order the stuffed crust.

Review of Tate Modern

Art. Meh 3*

I'm not really "into" art. I can appreciate it if I see if but have no interest in specifically going to a gallery to look at various artistic works. I much prefer "real life" photos or drawings than abstract or minimalist styles.

I have long heard the opinion about modern art being crazy and not "real" art at all but never having seen any, I had nothing to back up that view.

Yesterday, I decided that I would finally go to the Tate Modern and see for myself, and it was just as I had expected really.

I always try and go with an open mind about these things but I wasn't impressed by most of the art on show. There were a few good pieces that provided brief amusement, such as the optical illusion paintings, and some actual decent paintings of things, but I don't really know how to appreciate the majority of the work there - canvases with a single colour, or what seem like random lines everywhere.

The actual museum itself is a bit weird with the entrance taking you in on level 1, then you have to go through corridors, outside, down a ramp, then into a massive room and up some escalators bypassing level 1 directly to level 2. It's very strange, and very unnecessary.

Was it worth it? Yes, but only so I can continue my cynicism about the whole "modern art" thing.

Review of Subway

No bread 2*

I went to this Subway today at about 2.15pm and they had run out of all but wheat and Italian herb and cheese. Very disappointing particularly at lunch time!

Review of Topman

20% too much trend 4*

Well, not really. I needed some more jeans and specifically wanted to buy black jeans. After accidentally picking up some almost skinny jeans (slim), I found what I wanted and bought them. I was expecting to pay £75 - £100 from looking at prices on the Levis website but I was pleasantly surprised to find the pricing very reasonable at £25-£30.

I bought 2 pairs of one style because they didn't have the ones I wanted in my size...so I ordered them on their website when I got home.

I also proved my theory that skinny jeans are very difficult to take off.

Good times.

Review of The British Museum

19 May 07, 20:33

Impressive but no mummies 4*

The last time I went to the British Museum I was in year 4 and went with school. So when my friends came down for the weekend we thought we'd go and have a look around.

The inner court area is extremely impressive with a huge glass roof. The areas you can visit are split into the different areas of the world and nicely presented, but can be a little confusing and easy to get lost.

The one thing I did remember from my previous visit were the mummies but we couldn't find them this time round.

But it's free, and nice to see all the stuff we own shown off for everyone to see.

Review of Apple Store

It's shiny 5*

Every time I've had friends down we've been to the Apple store to bask in it's shiny goodness...and play on the Apples. Good fun. I will buy something from there before the summer, probably a new Macbook.

Review of Match Bar

18 May 07, 19:52

A good bar 4*

I've been here for a lot of drinks after work and it's a nice place to go. The atmosphere is relaxed and it's a good place to go for a drink. The food is also good if you want to eat, but it is quite expensive. Everything I have had has been paid for by the company but looking at the prices they are quite high. Aside from that, it can get noisy when its busy making it difficult to hear people sometimes.
