Review of Starbucks
04 Jan 08, 18:05
A nice muffin
I haven't been into a Starbucks for years. I think I may only ever have been in once before. So on a Sunday morning at the train station I decided to go here and get some breakfast.
Starbucks food is nice. As in the orange juice. The only problem is the price. It is very expensive, but then you probably expect that.
On a Sunday morning it was quite busy in the station but there were plenty of seats in Starbucks and it was relatively quiet (noise wise).

Review of Arora International Manchester

Quite fancy
This is quite a fancy hotel. I found a good deal online for about £150 per night which was worth it for the one night I was there. I like to stay luxury when going around the country attending concerts and the Arora didn't disappoint.
It's a little difficult to find as it seems to be off the "main" areas but following a Google Map will take you right there - it's easy to spot walking.
Takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the train station too and about 15-20 to The Academy for the gig.
Quite expensive but you do get a very large room and extremely comfortable beds - they're some kind of crazy air/soft thing!

Review of The Oxford

A nice pub
Having visited Kro Bar before a gig at The Academy, The Oxford was a good end result. It got very, very busy after the gig since it is pretty much opposite The Academy but they served reasonably quickly and have fair prices. It's a great place to go before a gig since it's a 2 min walk to the entrance and after for some thirst quenching.

Review of Leon Paul Fencing Equipment
17 Aug 07, 12:18
High quality fencing equipment
Leon Paul are THE fencing equipment supplier - you just don't buy your fencing gear from anywehere else!
All my purchases have been from their website and although it isn't the best site in the world and the order system is slightly annoying, the product quality is brilliant.
All my fencing equipment is from Leon Paul - I have swords, masks, gloves, bags, electric wires, jackets - pretty much everything - and they have lasted well and do the job. They offer a range of products from starter kits to custom swords (of which I have one) and they make everything on site.
The customer service is also good - if you have any questions they are quick to respond and will accept returns if what you bought just isn't for you.
Don't buy from anywhere else.

Fancy Venue
This is an impressive venue inside - I saw Explosions in the Sky here. There are multiple levels and several bars. A decent place to see bands.

Review of London Zoo

Zootastic
It's a zoo, and it's a good one. I have never been to London Zoo before even though it is quite famous and I wasn't disappointed, apart from the fact that we couldn't find the penguins because they have been moved.
There are a lot of animals there including lions, monkeys, tigers, monkeys, gorillas, dragons and fish. Ohh, and llamas! Good times.
They don't have any rhinos though so my parents weren't eaten and I didn't need to go and live in a giant peach. Can't complain.

Review of Topman

20% too much trend
Well, not really. I needed some more jeans and specifically wanted to buy black jeans. After accidentally picking up some almost skinny jeans (slim), I found what I wanted and bought them. I was expecting to pay £75 - £100 from looking at prices on the Levis website but I was pleasantly surprised to find the pricing very reasonable at £25-£30.
I bought 2 pairs of one style because they didn't have the ones I wanted in my size...so I ordered them on their website when I got home.
I also proved my theory that skinny jeans are very difficult to take off.
Good times.

Review of The British Museum
19 May 07, 20:33
Impressive but no mummies
The last time I went to the British Museum I was in year 4 and went with school. So when my friends came down for the weekend we thought we'd go and have a look around.
The inner court area is extremely impressive with a huge glass roof. The areas you can visit are split into the different areas of the world and nicely presented, but can be a little confusing and easy to get lost.
The one thing I did remember from my previous visit were the mummies but we couldn't find them this time round.
But it's free, and nice to see all the stuff we own shown off for everyone to see.

Review of Match Bar
18 May 07, 19:52
A good bar
I've been here for a lot of drinks after work and it's a nice place to go. The atmosphere is relaxed and it's a good place to go for a drink. The food is also good if you want to eat, but it is quite expensive. Everything I have had has been paid for by the company but looking at the prices they are quite high. Aside from that, it can get noisy when its busy making it difficult to hear people sometimes.

Review of Strada
12 May 07, 17:36
A good Italian
I love Italian food and Strada is a nice restaurant nearby. We were served promptly and by what appeared to be genuine Italians! The food came quickly and was very nicely cooked. Probably not as good as an independent "real" Italian restaurant but I was suitably impressed and shall be going there again soon.

Review of Subway

Good service
Contrary to what Rik said, the service here is great. When it's busy the boss guy gets very animated and serves people way back in the line, queuing up sandwiches creating a bottleneck at the salad zone, but when it's less busy they are very friendly and know who I am! Then I do visit every day...

Review of Fopp
01 May 07, 14:59
A good store
On 15th April I attended an in-store appearance of Steven Wilson and John Wesley to promote the release of the new Porcupine Tree album. I got to FOPP in Camden early and had some time to browse before the event.
The store itself is nicely done out with a wide range of titles available over three floors. If you're looking for something - CDs or DVDs - the chances are you'll find it here,
