Review of Incognico

Formidable! 4*

Incognico is a very classy French restaurant, without being too pretentious. The dessert selection is awesome, I recommend the cheesecake, although was gutted that I didn't go for the chocolate mousse (which was apparently out of this world!)

Review of The Chandos

Always time for a cheeky Chandos! 4*

Great for top quality Samuel Smith's brewed beers (and one of the cheapest pints in London that I know of). Can get pretty busy most evenings and the Opera Bar (upstairs) can be a squeeze on a Friday night! Friendly bar staff and locals make this worth a trip after work with your colleagues, but I wouldn't go out of my way on a weekend for example!

Review of Brixton Bar and Grill

Pre-Gig Chunky Chips and Decent Beer! 4*

The Brixton Bar and Grill, is a little hidden gem off the beaten track, but still in walking distance of Brixton Academy if you fancy a quick beer or three before heading off to a gig. The staff were really friendly when we went recently and their chunky chips are the perfect accompaniment to the top quality (and reasonably priced beers) that they serve there!

Review of Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Restaurant

A touch of class... 4*

We've been here twice and both occasions have been memorable. The service is second to none, the ambience is very relaxing and the food is exquisite. I strongly recommend a few pre-meal cocktails in the adjoining bar (they're fairly expensive, but hit the spot!). This place is equally perfect for couples or a group of friends or family. The menu is quite pricey, but not over the top and you do pay for a great experience!

Review of Lal Akash Restaurants

My local curry house... 4*

I'm a fan of this restaurant as it is local to me and literally a five minute walk from home. The restaurant is nothing to look at from the outside (or from the inside for that matter!) but the food is AMAZING and the customer service is pretty high. They do all the Indian staple dishes, but also have a range of their own specials that are just divine!

Review of Cass Art

22 Apr 08, 08:43

An artistic oasis! 4*

My second favourite art material store in London (first place will always be reserved for the London Graphic Centre in Covent Garden). I love this place for it's reasonable prices and bountiful array of sketch books. It's also next door to where I work, so for personal convenience it ranks four stars in my book!

Review of The London Graphic Centre

22 Apr 08, 10:41

The ultimate art store! 5*

My favourite place in the UK for all my art supply needs. I'm a cartoonist and the London Graphic Centre supply some of the best rare chunky pens and glossy papers for my work. They literally sell anything you need from fine art material to more graphic projects! And as Rik says above, the staff are really helpful and let you try out their products before buying!

Review of Bear and Staff Pub

22 Apr 08, 11:02

Sausage and mash-tastic! 3*

This pub gets an extra start purely for it's award winning sausage and mash! A great little boozer, although not one for an evening out as it's quite small and you struggle to get a seat. Great for after work drinks or a spot of lunch. The selection of ales and lagers are good too!

Review of Scotts Sandwich Bar

22 Apr 08, 11:14

The best salt beef in town! 4*

A great spot; the staff are really friendly and genuine (without coming across as false) and the salt beef on rye sarnie is the best sandwich I've ever tasted (and comes complete with gherkin accompaniment!)

It is quite pricey, so I don't make regular trips, but once in a while I get drawn back for more hot salt beef action!

Review of Wahaca

The best Mexican in the West (End) 4*

A great Mexican restaurant to visit as a group with a great atmosphere and really friendly and helpful staff! Has a great buzzy market feel which adds to the communal feel of the dining (basically order a load of different dishes and dig in!)

It's fairly priced and you recieve complimentary jalepeno chilli seeds when you leave so you can grow your own!
