Review of Atari-Ya Foods Sushi Takeaway

Supplier of Nobu and Zuma!!!!!
This little take away shop is not just a normal sushi place... It is the supplier for Nobu and Zuma!
This place was recommended by one of our japanese friends and we didnt know its the supplier of Nobu until we went in!
I was researching on sashimi supplier in London the other day and I came across Atariya - also a supplier for Sushi Hiro which I love. I always wanted to go there (their Finchley Road/Golders Green store) but never have the chance!
This was purely a coincident thatI found out this famous sushi bar = Atariya!
Its packed with Japanese, most of them ordering for take-aways, and its so busy!
Price is CHEAP!!!! £1.1 for 3 salmon sashimi for the 'Nobu' quality!!
The young chefs there might not have the experience to slice the salmon sashimi to perfection, but if you wanna try the freshness of the seafood - "nobu quality" at low price, this is the place to go!

Review of The Chicago Rib Shack

Absolutely Disgusting
Having walk passed this new restaurant nearly everyday, I decided to try it out. (Especially when its always full whenever I walked passed it)
Anyways, straight to the point here:
The food were absolutely disgusting and I will be surprised if it is not closed within 12 months if they dont change the chef.
To summarise: -extravagant version of TGI friday but food was the worst you can find across UK. -Meat was tastless and dry -wings: severely dehydrated -service: very well, in fact they apologise for the food but failed to compensate us
Avoid.

Ok food
Went there for sushi and also beef steak teppanyaki.
Sushi was badly made. Rice didnt stick together and the whole piece of sushi fell apart. Not just nigiri, but also rolls, which i find it hard to believe.
Fish was ok not the best that I have tried.
However the set meal - beef teppanyaki was surprisingly worth the money.
It was like a 6 course meal for £37 pounds, including 3 sushi rolls for starters, 1 soup, 1 portion of kara age, 1 tofu and seaweed salad, 1 beef steak - 400g served with veg cooked in front of you and a mix fruit for dessert. All very worth for £37. You are guaranteed to leave the restaurant very full.
However again, the meal was nothing special in terms of taste and quality apart from the soup which worths a 2nd visit.

Review of Kobe Jones

Nice Mushroom Rice
Kobe Jones is now Hakuba, and I think it's a pity that it was pretty much empty when we went - Friday evening.
I dont really understand this cos the food wasnt bad, and we went there with a top table voucher... it should be packed with people. But it was just .. empty.
Their 'japanese' food was ok... not very appealing to me. Maybe its fusion?? I just find it a bit too average.... nothing worth comment on really apart from their mushroom rice in a hot pot, which was yummy, and exciting.
I almost feel bad when the chef opened the door for us when we left...
It is still a mystery of why its so empty on a Friday.

Review of Sushi-Say

Fresh sashimi & a must see Chef!
My friend and I set up a goal - in search of the best sushi place in london.
We will visit a new Japanese restaurant each week and we will order different dishs as well as order the same thing each time as control.
Salmon sashimi, toro sashimi and Tamago (omelette) nigiri - our control.
Sushi-say has the best salmon sashimi... We thought it was a bit expensive to have 7 pcs of sake sashimi for £15, but it was all worthwhile.
The size is HUMUNGUS!! I think it can easily be 14 pcs of salmon sashimi in Japan Centre, but size isnt that important as it is so fresh and yummy!!
Toro and egg nice as well, but I think Sushi-hiro still got the upper hand.
To conclude, it is an absolute surprise find in Willesden Green for such an authentic Japanese Restaurant! Food was lovely and we will definately go back even tho service was extremely slow.
Decor was minimal but stylish, waitress were helpful and friendly, and the Sushi chef is definately a must-see! You will know what I mean when you go there!

Review of Sushi Hiro

Very fresh sushi
Directly opposite Ealing Common Tube station.
This place only serves sushi & sashimi in terms of food... so no hot food - no katsu curry, no croquette, no gyoza, no udon, no tempura... yeah...
Very authentic, fresh ingredients, best try their toro and tamago sushi, very very nice.
We were sitting at the bar and you could see the chefs carefully preparing the fish... it looks like a piece of art... really...
Note: Please reserve a table before you go and they only take cash!

Review of Cha Cha Moon
19 May 08, 15:46
Alan Yau's Latest Fast Food Restaurant
Cha Cha Moon is located just off Carnaby Street on Ganton Street - perfect quick snacks for shoppers.
CCM is a Chinese Noodle bar... and their main dishes are Noodles, Noodles and more Noodles. You can find all sorts of noodles dishes there.... soup based, fried, dry noodles, cold noodles... from Szechuan style to Taiwan style...
Food: During promotion period, all dishes are £3.5 each. The portions are all right, not as big as the ramen in Wagas... but its only £3.5 each, what do you expect?? Try their sides as well, it looks authentic... however I'd rather pay £3.5 for a main than 4 wontons which cost peanuts...
Drinks: Dont go for the HK milk tea or lemon tea... they taste very artificial... you might want to go for a Harbin Beer tho - a Northeastern China Beer.
Interior: Like Wagamama - Long communal tables & benches / seats (cushioned tho), open plan kitchen, quite dark, quite noisy & I have a feeling of being squashed as soon as I sat down.. just feel a bit cramped...
All dishes - £3.5 during the promotion period so try it out before they increase the price!

Come here for Cancerous Wings
How hard could it be to barbecue some chicken wings???
Very hard!! Ordered 20 wings, nearly all of them suffered from a 6th degree burn.
Waited for another 45 mins for some normal wings, and they ended up forgotten about it and gave us some yucky ice cream to shut us up.
Ice cream cant fill me up on a Saturday night dinner....
Had to wait for another 15 minutes for a voucher afterwards as well!!! ARGH!!!!
Never go again!!!

A very satisfying dinner
Umm, I think the post code is W1K 7AA rather than W1K 1PX, cos literally its next to Marble Arch station (Park Lane Exit).
Nice Softshell crab tempura and very yummy wagyu beef.... basically.... theres a sauce which came with the beef, but personally, i think the beef tasted better without the sauce... it was just so succulent, had so much flavour and cooked perfectly to my liking.
Will definately go back again for the beef with the 50% off offer! Otherwise it would have been a bit overpriced :)
Ps... Cool interior - mysterious, buddah ornaments, candles etc - Very chilled out, not exactly where you would go for for a romantic date... cos it could be quite noisy.

Review of Shanghai Blues
28 Feb 08, 13:51
The only good thing was the interior design
Had dim sum with a friend in the weekend. I expected the food to be better than the usual dim sum place in china town, however I was very disappointed as they werent very tasty at all.
Find any Chinese restaurant in China town and I bet the dim sum will be at least similar or better than the ones in Shanghai blues.
"Specialises in Shanghai Dim Sum"? Shame on them.
Its a ripped off...
