Review of Giraffe

Pretty interesting 3*

I must admit one thing: We (wife, son, and I) only popped in here for desserts. But boy do they do some yummy desserts! My wife had the Rocky Road Sundae. The taste of it that I had was superb. I, myself, ordered the Swiss Chocolate Cheesecake - which had to be one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. Yes, I know it sounds rather routine (nearly everywhere has cheesecake) - but the chocolate sauce and the swiss chocolate was beyond expectations.

We sat outside, which is always a nice touch (especially in the Brunswick Centre) and had a relaxing dessert. The prices seemed rather reasonable, upon glancing at the menu. Employees were rather nice and helpful - especially with the fact of having a highchair out in the outside sit-down area for our son.

Review of Hare and Tortoise

Large Portions - Lower Prices 4*

Hare and Tortoise is a rather hot-spot (especially during the lunch hours and evenings) for just about anyone in the area or who's in the mood for some oriental meals. The prices are rather cheap (compared to the equal at Wagamama's) and you get huge portions. It's near impossible to leave the place without having cured that annoying hunger.

The menu itself can be rather interesting to look at - there are many choices to jump into. There is some sushi; but I haven't had any of it personally. I haven't had problems out of any of the stuff I've eaten so far (just a hint - the singaporean rice noodles and the katsu [rice] are awesome). The Singapore Rice Noodles come with beef, chicken, and prawn - all wonderfully seasoned and the egg they mix in it is nearly addictive. I've had one of their plum drinks - it was a little weird since it had an actual plum in the glass; though, on the other hand, it added a more fruity (less alcoholic) taste to it.

If you're ever near the Brunswick Centre and have a hankering for a large lunch/dinner at a lower price than most routine oriental shops - this is the place to pop into.

Likes Walking around, exploring London,Oriental Food (Japanese, Chinese, and Thai - preferrably), and spending time with my family.
Dislikes The space monkeys that keep landing in the back garden keeping me up at night.
Fave books Ender's Game, The World According to Garp, and Trainspotting.
Fave films The World According to Garp (brillant adaption from the novel, for once!), Trainspotting, 1984, Requiem for Dream, Radio Flyer....
Fave music Green Day (earlier stuff), Semisonic, Fastball...pretty much mid/late 90's stuff.
Last Holiday America? (if you call that a holiday)
Best thing about where I live The local shops, of course! As well as my wife and son.
Worst thing about where I live The several chronic weirdos, and the constant space monkeys coming to attack in my resting stage.
