Used to think this place was a bit poncy 3*

Used to think this place was a bit poncy but it seems they have branched out into being a proper club with DJs and everything. I'm not sure which way i prefer it. It's one of the trendier places to go clubbing in Nottingham, if you're into that sort of thing.

Only Fools and Horses style wine bar! 4*

I've walked past here so many times and am only now kicking myself for not going in sooner! I took a pew at the bar and made myself comfortable. There was so much choice of wine, i was quite surprised! The place was busy, even for midweek. The decor is hilarious - it's so dated but i wouldn't want it updating - it's perfect just as it is.

Wine and Nibbles 5*

I stepped into this place with much intrepidness. My boyfriend has been coming here for years and i felt like i was encroaching on his territory when i went there with the girls. Descend the stairs and say goodbye to daylight, as you'll loose track of time in here. A good selection of wine awaits, and nibbles too - perfect for sharing and a perfect accompaniment to good conversations. The staff were really prompt and efficient, and the atmosphere was great - with people gathered at the bar (but not hindering service) and small and large groups at tables. I'm claiming a stake on this bar too now!

Summer Lovin! 5*

If you can get a place outside on a summer evening, order a bottle of wine and refuse to move! Watch the world go by on the Thames or stare in awe at St Pauls cathedral, but most importantly just relax. If it's not so warm, don't fret as the place has floor to ceiling windows so you can still enjoy the view.

Classy Cocktails 4*

This place is a trendy, edgy and cool cocktail bar tucked away from the main throng. The waiting staff are good, and the bar men seem to know their thing. The food is a little eclectic for a lounge. There's some good sharing platters, mezze, sandwiches and salads but the place doesn't have the right kind of atmosphere to eat some of their larger main meals. There's a good selection of cocktails on the menu but i'd like to see more classics, like a Tom Collins or a Harvey Wallbanger. The decor is red and moody with soft sofas for sinking in. The thing about this bar is the people. There's a load of frumpy civil servants in here which just don;t match the glamour of the bar. If that doesn't bother you - then enjoy!

Uber cool 3*

Great cocktails so if you can get in then go in! I like to stay in here all night and make myself comfy. You can stick with your favorite cocktails or experiment - the choice is yours. The door staff may decide not to let you in on a whim - they might not like your shirt. But if you they do let you in, then i hope you have a great night.

A religious experience 3*

It really is an experience drinking here,

Once you've gotten over the fact that it's a chain pub and appreciate your surroundings this can be a really good experience.

It's a converted church so you have a bar down the left hand side, tall ceilings, suspended walkways, spiral staircases and stained glass windows.

It's not the trendiest bar in town but you might as well give it a go, just so you can say you drank in a bar.

Home from home 3*

Went to a Latin American night here and much the same crowd as the ones from Movimientos. It's a nice venue that feels a bit like partying in a large house. One room had a DJ and dance floor and lots of sofas, but all in all was a bit sparse which meant the atmosphere was really chilled. The other room had a large stage and a live band on so it was nice to have the option of which room to go in.

There's a large outside area as well so you can go chat to your mates.

It's a bit of a shame that there's nothing else really around here, as it feels a bit weird trekking here for a night out, but it's worth it if there's a good crowd in.

Boozy Lunches 4*

Went with the girls for a spot of shopping and a boozy lunch. Was enough on the menu to keep everyone happy - vegetarians, skint students and food afficionados! I had the sea bass which was great although a little filling for a lunch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and entertained us while we waited 5 minutes for our table. The plate of desserts available on the menu is great for guilt free sharing. And once you've finished there's loads of shops around to help you burn off those calories!

Cheese and Wine 5*

You can't really go wrong with this place. Don't be put off by the facade the place is awesome. Descend the creaky stairs and you are confronted with lovely cheeses where you can get a selection with bread and pickles for under a tenner. Turn the corner and choose a wine. They only sell wine and have a great choice. The place is always busy so be prepared to stand but if you can get a seat enjoy the atmosphere of the arched and low roof and candlelight. It's great for the winter, but even better in summer when you can stand outside and take in a view of embankment gardens. I've taken friends from out of town here and everyone loves it! I can't fault it!
