Review of Willis B

Very pricey, save your money and go to Village Way 2*

Sooo expensive, I go next door to Village Way which is half the price. I paid nearly £40 for a wash and blow dry which is just crazy as it hardly took any time. It did look nice, though!

Excellent local hairdresser 5*

Very reasonably priced, much better value than Willis B which is next door and twice the price for no apparent reason. I pay about £20 for a wash and blow dry for my hair which is really long. They also trim my daughter's fringe free of charge - brilliant!

Review of Peckham Multiplex

Updated prices 5*

It's not as cheap as when I originally reviews, as of June 2010 it's £3.99 on Tuesdays and Thursdays all day. Check the web site for up to date prices on all other days.

Review of Push Studios

Really lovely health and fitness studio with a good mix of classes 5*

Fancy learning to Zumba, poledance or do some ballet classes for adults? It's all here, as well as the usual staples of fitness studios - yoga, pilates, post-natal and pre-natal classes, personal training and massage. They also run workshops for the kids to keep them out of your hair of a weekend or school holiday!

Review of Mathew Alexander Bespoke Hair and Make-up

09 Jun 10, 14:44

Still amazing! 5*

I haven't had much time for hair maintenance since having a baby, but finally got to Mathew's salon for the first time this year to get my hair dyed and blow-dried. Mathew just gave me the best blow-dry ever, plus did my make-up for free and gave me a lovely little gift of a Tangle Teezer for the baby. He really knows how to make his clients feel special - and gorgeous!

Review of Roullier White

Gorgeous stuff for you and your home 4*

Small independent shop on Lordship Lane selling products for the home including lots of beautiful white bone china, unusual glasses, wonderfully scented bath foams and luxurious bed linen.

Staff are wonderfully attentive and very friendly.

Lovely boutique shoe shop 4*

I popped in here recently to get some Fit Flops (which truly are an amazing piece of footwear!). It's a very small shop, but they always have size 8s available in whatever style I like, which is more than I can say for any other shoe store I have ever been in, I'm usually limited to one or two shoes in the whole shop. Great that they stock a unique range of shoes as well as big brands like Havianas and Uggs. The range is definitely not cheap, but all the shoes are beautiful, nothing like the hideous Davina Boutique around the corner - argh!

Review of Viet Hoa Cafe

The best of the bunch 5*

It can be a bit tricky to know which Vietnamese restaurant to pick as the block is lined with them on either side, but this is definitely my favourite. I've been going here for about 8 years now. I am a bit of a bore when it comes to ordering food and tend to stick to what I know - deliciously fresh Vietnamese summer rolls, soft shell crab (really spicy and garlicky) and deep fried tilapia. The staff are fantastic here, plus they are really quick with doing you a takeaway (no home delivery, alas).

Review of Liberty and Co

My favourite department store in London 5*

I love Liberty because it feels like wandering around someone's slightly ramshackle old mansion, full of gorgeous nick nacks. I try not to go in here as I always end up with a huge hole in my pocket when I leave, but the staff really are quite lovely and knowledgeable. I like the fact that the staff are all ages, races, shapes and sizes, unlike some other department stores. The sales are always good, in fact that's probably the only time I'd venture into the store so that I don't feel too bad about frittering away loads of cash on lovely, but usually unnecessary, purchases!

Review of Macondo

13 Jul 08, 17:36

Hoxton nonsense 3*

It's fine to cosy up on the sofa with a coffee, but the menu is so overpriced and very little to choose from. I could never bring myself to eat here, not with Yelo Thai next door which does absolutely amazing food for about half the price!
